Rielly is just having himself a game

Covers puck with hand goal 1

Gives puck away goal 2

These 5 days off ****ed this team

It’s brutal being off 5 days I don’t even blame them, scheduling has them rusty

This team lacks communication

Like when why 1 guy jumps off 3 jump on

Players are sloppy today

No doubt they’re sloppy, they haven’t played in years in nhl time

I do at this point cant keep making excuses for them

This is an important game for the standings and so far its Det who played yesterday and should be tired is the more energetic of the 2 teams

Sure 5 days off ****ed them but come on this team is supposed to be competitive and yet they are playing like game 1 of reg sloppy.

Honestly thought Olympic ice would do them some good it hasnt.

Still time but yea not good

I mean it definitely is a valid reason, that doesn’t mean I think they should lose though.

Honestly not gonna lie was concerned for Bertuzzi

Yes was hurt but man he was almost giving me Ritchie 2.0 vibes

But as soon as he was set with JT and Willy and started to get healthy wow did the guy we see in Det and Bos come to life

Keep em together while they aint great defensively those 3 can play the transition/offensive game

And that game it was on full display as since Matthews and Marner have been quiet they have woke up and watching Bert (a former wing) **** over Holl (a former leaf) so good lul

Manifesting a Willy extension tommorow

10 x 8 years

Can be the third highest paid RW in the NHL.

More than Tkachuck, Kucherov, Stone, Rantanen etc.

Go to 11 and get his contract down to 6 years.
Basically Tavares and Nylander switch contracts

Nah hes not earned being the second highest paid wing. Marner at least plays the defense we need and was top 3 finalist in Selke votes last season and Pasta is just like wow.

I got a feeling were gonna see 10-10.5m x 8 years like Huberdeau. But some could argue even thats pushing considering there are pretty good RW in the 9m range. There's Pasta but that was an enigma and that man had 61 goals last year and Marner plays defense.

Also its a contract year. That often makes players look better. Even already solid players like Nylander.

Keep the term at max to allow for a lower the cap hit

Like if Brad offered 10-10.5m x 8 years like we saw with Huberdeau I dont think Willy would say no as he gets his original ask and is the third highest paid RW wing who will be making more than Kucherov, Rantanen, Stone, Tkachuck, etc.

Cause if he goes to FA he may end up just making that amount anyways or heck less

Gaudreau man could have been making Huberdeau money with CGY. Now hes making less and getting benched in CBJ

Im a lot less worried about the number than the term, especially with the cap about to explode. If we need to massage Marners ego we can go 10.88x6-7

Its not even an ego trip Marner is just better defensively thats really it so he earned his 10.93m. Cause being a Selke finalist with Bergeron pretty good. He has been a nice piece for Toronto and has made JT and Matthews play some of their best hockey at times

Now you got the enigma known as Pastranak but that guys insane. 61 goals and 113 points last season pretty good

In general if we look rn many solid 2-way RW are making 9.5m or less and get it US and Taxes but still

10-10.5m x 8 years for him is fine heck he asked for it at the beginning of the year. Just sign the contract and lets get playing

As then he can go im ahead of Kucherov and Tkachuck for pay days lul

To me 8 years would be fine. Hes not Matthews who seems to dislike the 8 year and he seems to want stability

Matthews I get he wants to maximize his earnings and explore his options. Willy I dont get that vibe. He seems to want to have stability

If it keeps the money down I say give him his 8 years at 10m

Cause hes 27 and by the time its up he will be 36. While those final 3 years could be rough cap will probs be 100+ mill so its a who cares kind of thing. But who knows maybe he ages really well with that deal and no year looks bad

To late now but yea situation room and refs ****ed up on Marners supposed no-goal lul

Tracking chips in the puck would help but Bettman's backwards league wont do that its to advanced yet all other leagues for the most part do it.

I'm not concerned about the term at all. Would rather the advantage of a lower cap hit over the next few years than getting out of the contract a year or two earlier.

I got some feeling Klingberg gonna end up on LTIR for a while

As this hip thing hes dealing with seems bad enough to where he cant play and its something hes dealt with for a while. Not saying Robidas Island but who knows

But yea the fact Simon Benoit has had a bigger impact is a pretty big bruh moment but at this point one has to wonder just how bad this injury is

I value flexibility and efficiency the most, so term for a 28 year old is the largest issue for me.

I value flexibility and efficiency as well, I just value it way more over the next few seasons than 7-8 years down the line. I can't imagine a world where the Leafs have a better opportunity to win in 2031 than they do right now, so I'm taking the term for AAV trade off all day every day.

Well it depends on whose drafted by then but yea time is now or at least next 4-5 years to win. Unless McDavid joins than I say 8 lul

If it allows the price to come down give him his 8 years as by the time its up or gets bad cap will be like what 120mill or something

I would love for McDavid to join the Leafs at some point but I get the feeling he's quietly getting sick running around in circles in Edmonton and in turn also getting tired of the media grind there. I wonder what his appetite will be especially in terms of media and how excited he will be to sign with the same team or anywhere else in Canada.
