Why would Carolina say no? Pinto is worth a 1st and a 2nd then they throw in another second Bernard docker is probably worth a 2nd or two thirds at least not sure on kubaliks value but he’s a decent player

They’re desperately missing Zub. They’ve given way too many chances without him

No team claimed JBD off waivers, he's not worth much. And basically this would be less than Chychrun got, and Arizona was desperate, and Pesce is a RHD. His numbers are elite, I see no reason for CAR to do this unless they don't think Pesce is re-signing. There are also lots of reasons for Ottawa to not want that uncertainty

I think a coaching change is in order before major roster shakeup. They defend the same way they have since DJ got here. It's been half a decade, the only conclusion is that this is DJ Defense working as intended. They should have fired him the day after Bruce Cassidy was fired in Boston.

But to the larger point, I'm spending more and more time wondering what this team looks like without Chabot, even though it sickens me. I think trading him for Crowse is one of the dumbest things I've seen in a while tho. Only makes sense if you're moving him and getting a less costly top 4 RHD.

He's confirmed out for a while. Also it's best not to dismantle the best defensive core we've had since 06-07 for spare parts and Lawson Crouse.

Not a players/talent problem. Bring in as many new players as you want, coaching and management would still be the same
