In a vaccum, some of those trades are fair. But, when you consider the other teams needs and situations, they don't make sense in the least bit. If Draisaitl has interest in coming to CHI when he's a UFA in a couple years, I'm sure CHI would be just as, if not more, interested. Simply put, we are in no position to trade assets for him.

Totally agree, Davidson has worked too hard to stockpile talented young prospects and draft capital to hand such a significant quantity of it over to Edmonton for two years of Draisaitl.

Chicago has preached the patient approach since KD took over, I can’t see them changing course now. Although they are not necessarily tanking any longer, I see them being quite comfortable with another top 5 pick this season, top ten pick the following year and then going full throttle after that.

Value (or lack thereof) aside, 1st Round Picks and another defenseman don't mean a thing when Dallas goes from having a top-5 goalie in the league to a fringe NHL starter. Not to mention that the fringe NHL starter already flamed out in Dallas to start his career.

For sure. From a marketing standpoint, I could see Faulkner pushing hard for KD to have a SERIOUS roster put together in time for the 26-27 centennial season. One way or another, they will likely be marketing that season heavily.

Nurse is a bad contract. Stars aren’t rebuilding. Chicago is rebuilding. Toronto’s defense is already sketchy and you want them to move their best dman for a forward upgrade??
