No space for another RD in Columbus. By 2024-25 Jiricek should definitely be in the NHL and they still have to figure out how to manage Severson, Boqvist, Peeke, Gudbranson, and Blankenburg.

Fair enough, insert Team X then as the recipient of David Savard at the deadline for a 4th round pick.

Not only is Dvorak absolute garbage and not worth two 2nds, but Vegas's deepest position is C, they have no use for him.

Salary cap aside TB would probably do that, but I think we'd have to free up some space to make it work though

Less than zero chance TB spends almost 2 million on a backup to a very rested Vasilevskiy.

With TBs salary cap situation on what planet does this remotely make sense? IT DOESN'T!!!!!!!!
Another I'm not going to look at or care about what other teams needs/situation post. Pretty much none of these are good situations for teams not named Montreal.
Monahan makes little to no sense for Colorado.
Savard same for CBJ . Dvorak same again for VGK. Maybe DeSmith to St.Louis ,but that's a stretch IMO. And I already stated TBs POV

here's the issue with monahan - if he gets hurt/doesn't produce, the Avs don't want em. if he does produce/stays healthy, the Avs can't afford what it would take to get him - they wouldn't be the only team attempting that trade. He's not a good pickup for the Avs, but someone will trade for him in that sort of deal if he's any good this season.

There are a few factors that would decide whether Tampa would do this next offseason. First will be how.much cap space they have after the cap increase and the amount they give Stamkos or his ufa replacement. Secondly will be the play of this year's backup, Johansen. If he is adequate or better at filling in for Vasy, Tampa likely sticks with him and saves some cap there. Finally, with Tampa likely having around 4 million next offseason(provided a 7.5 aav to Stamkos or whomever else they acquire in ufa to replace him, and a cap increase to 87.5-87.7) to sign 4 additional players, 2 bottom 6 F, a 3LD, and a #7D, the cap may be better utilized on these positions rather than Allen. In theory though, the trade isn't bad.

They CAN afford him, especially at a 50% retention. He was well on his way to fetching a good package at the deadline last year but injury occurred. Was producing at a 55-point clip and should get a similar chance this upcoming season.

      Yes they are

Oh yeah because when they could have signed him for free for $1.8M they didn’t even talk to him, but one of the best front offices in the league is all the sudden going to be like “we just have to have the guy that is always hurt, hasn’t produced in years, and doesn’t skate well enough to fit in our scheme and we are going to give a 1st for that honor”. So to put a twist on your absolutely mature response,

      No
      They
      Are
      Not

He started hurt, then got reinjured and is still on the I.R. Producing at a 55 point clip means nothing when you havent scored 30 in 3 years and are a decrepit "asset"

This is moot point now anyway, but I meant they cannot afford the 1st round + extras it would cost to get a “having a good season” Monahan.
