Looking at this the Nhl needs to bring in the 20 team playoff format, so many good teams will miss the playoffs and we never know who and when a Cinderella team will happen.

Remember the late 70's playoff qualifier Rd.

Shrink the regular season to 80 games again, boo hoo Nhl owners will lose 1 home game, but the increase chances of making the playoffs outway the negative.

Top 6 teams in the Conference get a bye week, then team 7 v. 10 and team 8 v. 9 in a quick 3 game series played in 4 nights, with team 9 and 10 getting Game 1 at home.

I’d modify that format slightly,

Like make the actual first round (after the 7v10, 8v9 games) best of 5 then have every other series be best of 7

The final 3 teams for the wildcard slots in the East were decided by 1 point!! They keep adding teams, but not adjusting the playoffs format. That needs to change

Who is overrating NSH and what are they saying? That one is a bit of a surprise to me.

I don't know if I would say Edmonton is underrated unless you think they are the team to beat. I would say Florida is underrated ever since making it in as the final WC. The previous year they were probably overrated because of their wins and goal scoring pace. Tampa Bay is definitely the most underrated from the list imo.

Half the F***ING league makes it come on if you can't finish in the top half of the league basically you don't deserve to make the playoffs.

VGK just won a cup…I think that ought to inoculate them from “overrated” list.

I think the cup hangover will hit Vegas similarly to how it hit Colorado and Tampa after their second cup

The devils, honestly I kinda struggled to find many overrated teams

Really I see the devils making a deep run in the playoffs but I don’t think for the regular season at least, that they’ll overrun Carolina

You’d be shocked at how many people rate Ottawa and Buffalo like they’re the next Tampa and Boston of the Atlantic

My thought process around Edmonton is that they get lost in the shuffle because everyone is so focussed on Vegas and for Vancouver, kind of like New Jersey, I struggled to find another underrated team

NJD is still a very young team that just lost two top-four dmen…so they very much could be overrated.

Boston may be getting a bit underrated. Have seen a lot of predictions with them outside playoffs.

VGK are in pretty good position to make another run. Their division could be one of the easier ones. LAK could be in same boat too…I think they are well built team.

I think NSH could be a good sleeper team. They will score a lot more this year. But I worry about goalie-dependence.

I think the most overrated team may be Florida. Ekblad and Montour will both miss time…and look at the rest of their defense. Bobrovsky may have been lightning in a bottle in post season.

As much as I hate to admit it, Calgary should be on your underrated list. They still have a top-10 defense and their forward corps should bounce back a bit. Most people have them missing the playoffs, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if they make it.

How Montreal aren't a underrated team ?

If they didn't have all their injuries that they got it last season, they likely finished between 18-22 in the standing.
