As much as Drury and the 1st, 2nd is a very good sliught overpayment offer for Koneckny, I don;t know if 3 yrs of 2.75mil in retention for prospect Tikozov balances it too much to equal when PHI might have alot of offers.

The Hawks would offer something much better straight to PIT. No reason to get CAR involved.

I usually like the Athletic, but their Granlund idea is awful for the Pens. Granlund's buyout is pretty reasonable. Using the 14OA on a cap dump is not.

I see your point on the Granlund / Patches deal. With our dislike for rentals, im not sure we do much the 3+ million cap building throughout the year. we likely dont sign Patches unless we know he has a good chance of returning.

Pens won't use #14 to dump Granny without something good going back to Pens. They'll just buy him out. Hawks won't pay #35 to move up 5 spots either. Canes get #51 or #55 at best, which is fair value.

Yeah, the offer for Granlund to PIT would get rejected immediately. OR, at least CHI would send back a whole lot more than nothing. CAR is just a middle man that isn't needed.

Hawks would offer Pens something like 2 of their 4 '23 2nds for #14 and Granny. Just leave Canes out.

Korpisalo is the exact type of goalie we target. A guy who played behind a terrible defense but put up decent numbers. He will cost very little to get and put up respectable numbers with our defense

Maybe we shouldn’t strive to accumulate all of the slightly above average goalies

but if we stack the 3 goalies just right, we can block all of the net and let our 3 skaters try to fly the zone and score as the other team gets frustrated they cant get a puck in the back of the net.
