They’ll buyout Reilly before using a 3rd to move him.

Grizz likely gets just the 2nd.

Swap Spence/Grundstrom for Pinelli/Walker. LA moves extra cap out, Boston gets a decent center prospect.

OK, so Grzelcyk is really that much better than Bemstrom?

He's 6 years older, makes $500k more, 3 inches shorter, 16 lbs. lighter, and his stats are a bit underwhelming.
Is he feisty, like Marchand?
Or does he just need a scenery change?
Why exactly should CBJ give up the #34 pick in the 2023 draft in this trade? I am just not seeing it.

Really? The difference between Bemsie and Grzelcyk is the #34 pick in the 2023 draft?

What does physical size have anything to do with a depth forward being exchanged for a top 4 d-man?

I wonder what the favorite destinations and trade comps are for Linus. I'm leaning Vegas and LA if the Bruins are inclined to trade him. While Ottawa could be a fit I don't see him going there or the Bruins trading him in the division. Ottawa would have to overpay, and I'd be asking for Pinto as part of the deal to even consider trading in the division. I bet Linus wouldn't waive to go to Ottawa but he might for LA and Vegas.

Linus put up a monster year and if you are to sell high on him, I think the time is this summer. For a return I've been leaning a 2nd round pick, a high prospect (NHL ready) w/ low cap and a mid-tier prospect or later pick in a future year.

I wouldn't be interested in bringing in O'Reilly at this stage in his career. That would feel like a reboot of David Backes.

To fill our LD hole with a highly underrated and affordable vet who we can hopefully get for another year or two on extension? I'd prefer not to give up 34, or maybe BOS makes it a pick-swap, but I don't think the value is far off. Bems is a non-factor on this team at this point, so add him to open up the roster spot.

On Columbus he'd be a top 4 puck moving d-man. Really efficient at breaking the puck out of his own end and starting transitions. He hasn't really had a ton of PP time and the points reflect it, although he has looked more than comfortable when he has played on the top unit.

Im not sure CLB will move 34 for him, but i think he could be moved for a second round pick to a closer to contending team further back in the 2nd.

Bemstrom is a non-factor for CBJ. Great AHL guy who hasn't elevated himself above a depth piece. Was put on waivers 2-3 times this season and cleared. Of course, the ol' "change of scenery" could get something out of him, but at this point he is what he is for CBJ.

And yeah, I think it's reasonable to say 34 is too high. I'd like to target Griz, though.

I think it could be a lesser pick. I think I would rather see what FA has before taking on Grzelcyk.

It's not that he's better, he just fits a real need. Grzelcyk fits the current need for a LD2 with low term remaining until Mateychuk/Svozil/Knazko is developed to take the spot. Bemstrom is more of a luxury logjam winger.

Calgary's third rounder/the CBJ fourth and Bemstrom would be okay to me. I want that second to target Michael Hrabal.

Yeah i kinda wasnt really thinking on Bemstrom, more on the player Gryz is and whether 34 was too rich or not! Good to know as i havent watched a ton of CBJ this year

I get it. We need the roster spot more than we need Bems, so he'd be a lottery ticket throw-in for BOS.

I could live with that. But Turcotte has not progressed, can’t stay healthy, and looks like he’s better suited for wing at the NHL level.
