Because it's a nonsensical trade for Detroit. We're trying to improve. Not run the team into the ground.

Boston, with their tight cap situation, isn't going to be exchanging $4.1 million Brandon DeCarlo for $4.95 million Conor Garland, especially when they need a #2C to replace David Krejci and not a winger.

So the cap strapped Bruins take on more cap for a lesser player. And the Wings trade the best player and better pick....for not much

Too many CFACGM posters are ignorant to other teams needs. Sure it's great for Vancouver. Only problem is that Steve Yzerman isn't a dummy.

This makes zero sense from a Wings perspective. They have no use for another LHD and VP looks like a bust. Rasmussen is at least useful.on the 3rd line as the center and has a grit to his game. Is he living up to his 9OA pick , probably not but they are not going to throw him away for an even lesser player and a player they do not need.

I recall that 2017 draft when Ras was drafted. It wasn't a very strong draft class. But the talking heads were all saying Ras projected to be a 3C.

That's not what I wanted to hear about a Red Wings player drafted at 9OA. LOL

But they were bang on. I still prefer Ras at LW though.

100% agree on the swap of players, but disagree that they're looking for a #2C to replace Krejci. I think Boston see's that #2C as Pavel Zacha should Krejci retire. Zacha a breakout year with 57pts and seemed to have really good chemistry with Pastrnak. Not a fan of his poor FO% but if he can be a 60pt #2 two-way Center then I'm ok with him being below average in the dot.

You're assuming that Patrice Bergeron is coming back.

I'd be more surprised if he didn't. It'll be Boston's 100th season and Bergeron is still a very productive player. He had 58pt this season, was 61.1% in the dot and was named a Selke Finalist for the 12th straight year.

I sure hope that you're right. To me, he's the epitome of The Hockey Player.
