Where does Rielly fit between Matheson, Ghule, Xhekaj, Edmundson and Harris on the LD.

    So probably not.

That's my point. I don't think goalies are difference makers. A goalie that plays well for one team, might be average (or worse) on another. Their performance is too dependent on the team that plays in front of them.

I'd rather run with Copley, who has proven he can play well behind LA's defense, then give up a 1st for Ullmark.

Sharks Decline, not that the value is bad but we’re in a full on rebuild and a 30 year old LW is not smart allocation for the 36 OA pick.

Fair! I can see them keep him but with a team that’s set up to be a cup contender for the next few years Ullmark could be a difference maker IMO and in the playoffs the goalie makes the biggest difference on a team! Just look at the Montreal playoff run with Price.

Sure, and look at Skinner with Edmonton and Schmid with New Jersey. Those guys were on no one's radar at the beginning of this season, and are now a key piece of their success. I'm not saying that goaltenders can't be difference makers, I'm saying that there's no way to predict which goaltender will be the difference maker.

Hall isn't waiving to a poor team, and no team even if on his trade list is going to give much if anything for 6m cap hit. Same with Grzeleck, ....other teams have cap issues too, and many have no interest in helping the Bruins cap. Ullmark might be a difficult trade too. Finding a team on his trade list that can take on this full cap hit.

Bert wanted longer term in Detroit. Yzerman wouldn't give it to him likely because of his injury history. He might take that offer to stay in Boston though.

minnesota ate 3.75 of ROR for a 4th. But 1.8 for a 6th is the craziest thing you've ever heard?

Yes. Its not 1.8, its 3 mil, with 4 mil in salary. Minnesota ate the remaining portion of 3.75m AAV (about half that because it was in-season) on a 1 mil real money contract for a 4th near the deadline when a lot of teams didn't need flexibility. You're asking to move cap (with a salary that exceeds the cap hit) in the offseason when teams want to make moves and have flexibility. Take a look at what it cost to clear cap space in the offseason (Nemeth, Monahan, Pacioretty, Bjorkstrand, Dadonov, etc.). Best case, Montreal would offer to take Reilly if Boston ate Price's LTIRetired contract. And its unlikely that any other team would be much more accommodating for a guy who has cleared waivers twice this season.
