What in the hell is that Josh Anderson trade? 2 solid picks, plus Zadina, plus a top end goalie prospect for Josh Anderson? Why would Detroit ever in a million years do that?

Im pretty sure it's the other way around... We are not letting Anderson go for a Goalie playing in the ECHL( with a 2.5 GAA and 9,13 s%), a bust and a 2nd round pick. We have the cap space and Andy is a leader in the room. No need to trade him just to trade him.

Guy's... from MTL here
Cossa was terrible in the AHL... just OK for ECHL
No way MTL want's Zadina... NO WAY!!!! and a 2 or a 3rd that we do have a ton of them won't even move the needle.
Easy pass from MTL.

Cossa is a top 5 goalie prospect on earth. I agree that Anderson likely doesn't get moved, but if you made this offer from the Habs side you would get laughed out of a negotiation. It's delusional.

He's also a prospect and that was his first pro season. Look at rhe game splits and how he developed over the season. You get laughed out of the room if you offer this to the Wings. The trade is an absolute joke

Was a top 5 goalie prospect... he can't even pierce the AHL.

Hell! Kevin Poulin with the Rocket has better stats in the AHL.

This was his first year pro. He's 20 years old. Poulin is a 33 year old vet. That's an insane comparison to make.

Primeau then!

Like his numbers are not impressive in the ECHL and ARE TERRIBLE in the AHL.

Most Rookie Goalie do better in their first season.

Buddy, I'm sorry but defend this...
G GAA Sv%
2022-23 Grand Rapids Griffins AHL 3 5.57 0.783
2022-23 Toledo Walleye ECHL 46 2.56 0.913

I get you don't want to trade him... but from a habs fan POV, there is no reason to trade Andy for that package. I may believe Norlinder is the next Karlsson, but I can't really defend it either.

It never ceases to amaze when someone tries to tell fans about their teams prospect despite not knowing anything about them. You do realize that he was part of a 18 game win streak in Toledo right? Also, his team dominated their first round series in large part due to goaltending. Costa is leading the playoffs in save percentage. The Griffins sucked this year and the Wings did not want to expose Cossa to that environment.

To some hockey fans a goalie is supposed to be drafted and then win the Vezina trophy the next season or else he's a bust. Goalies don't need development.

Plus I've noticed there's a bit of Yzerman hate. It seems like each player he drafts is often called a bad pick. I really don't get it.

"Yzerman blew it! He picked Seider! LOL!"

That aged well. 🤔

He was probably sick of Habs fans offering Anderson to the flames for multiple first round picks and prospects.

I'm gonna have to disagree with my fellow Habs fan here...

Habs absolutely would make that deal. We all like Anderson, and rightfully so...but the reality is that he's just outside of the window we're trying to build here in terms of age, and while I'm perfectly comfortable with Anderson's contract for what he brings, that $5.5m could be necessary pretty quickly with the youngsters we have on the team, when they'll come out of their ELCs.

In Cossa, Habs would land a legit goalie prospect. Was his performance thus far a bit underwhelming ? Yes. Do I prefer Wallstedt between the two ? Also yes. But there's still upside there. Zadina is still young enough to get fixed by MSL, and adding a 2nd and 3rd in 2023 would be right on with what the Habs are doing right now.

It's all a moot point, as this trade doesn't really make sense for Detroit.

Filip Mesar who wasn’t even 1 ppg in the OHL 😹😭 and two-2nd round picks for Dominik Kubalik? Would you do that. Just kidding, I like Mesar, but that’s how bad this is.

I’m an habs fan and even I know Anderson isn’t worth that. Cossa and a third seems more realistic. Or Zadina, Stl second and a third
