So I guess you know better than one of the best and respected hockey insiders?

I've said it many times here before and what Jets fans don't seem to understand is that PLD and Hughes are in complete control on this.

1. If the Jets look to make a deal with ANY other club, that club is going to ask to speak to PLD before any deal is finalized given the rumors of him wanting to come to the Habs. No team is going to give up what the Jets will be looking for if they'll only be getting PLD for one year and then lose him for nothing in return as a UFA.

2. Given the point above, and the fact that Hughes knows that the Jets are desperate to at least get something/anything for PLD....he can play the waiting game and then low ball the offer. The longer the Jets hold off....the offer starts to become lower and lower.

If/when Hughes pulls off this trade it will be considered the steal of the century

They will get value for him. They don't have to trade him now. They could allow other teams to talk to him and maybe a different team agrees to an extension. That package is only Florida's first for value and he likely would get more.
Also the rest of the trades are very far off.

Also I never said I knew more than Friedman. Did Friedman say that was the package for Dubois? I can guarantee you he did not.

Sorry but that package isn't getting Pierre-Luc Dubois.

And $9,000,000 per for a guy who's two best season are only 60 and 61 points is truly laugh

Friedman has said exactly this.
The package would definitely include Florida's 1st.
A roster player, most likely a center
And a high end prospect

So the only thing that I may have wrong is Norlinder.
Other than that it's pretty much what I believe will play out.

While I may have the teams wrong the value coming back is pretty spot on for salary retention

Triggered? Only a tool says stay classy. That isnt polite. Giving legit reasoning would be respectful but then again you are the type to say stay classy. Give off bad enerygy and you will receive it back so deal with it or stay classy.

Says the guy literally called the number 1 homer on the board by most. He only uses the majority when it suits him and flags every comment he doesnt like.

I think the first is right and possibly Dvorak, to would be the best fit but Norlinder is not a high end prospect. High end prospect would be Mesar, Beck, Roy or Mailloux.

Overpayment for PLD
Habs are rebuilding and will only sign PLD as a UFA if he’s needed … and they will keep all their 1st rounders in the next two drafts

I’m not saying Montreal doesn’t have any leverage in a PLD trade proposal, but I take issue with the idea that Elliotte Friedman is one of the “best and most respected hockey Insiders.” My sources tell me that the only rumblings he’s hearing are coming from his ass. Darren Dredger has confirmed they reek.

Ehhh what? Who's ever so impressed with the king of wiggle words? Friedman is a poser. Just because he gets some things kinda right, that doesn't erase all the junk he spews.

Looking at this proposal for the 100th time, I finally realized captain Suzuki makes $7.8M. I'd expect PLD's AAV to be at-or-below that.

Depends on the leverage and the Habs/PLD negotiating power. Are they trading for him without a deal in the works? Is the signing a done deal before the trade even happens? Will he simply sign in free agency? What number will the cap be in 2023? 2024?

It's a moving target.

A 25 goal, 60 point C who will win a bit less than 50% of his draws. Big, has skill, and can skate. Can be physical. So more or less Danault numbers minus the faceoff ability. Counting inflation, I still dont think he makes Suzuki money. Suzuki has already passed the PLD career high in points this season!

VGK counters for the equally fair offer of Suzuki for a 5th. Hoffman is closer to costing Montreal than getting a2&3 Bhahahahahahaha you're delusional.

There is almost no point even dealing Hoffman. They have a ton of cap space even after signing Caufield and acquiring PLD. The easiest solution is buying out Armia. Costs 33k this season.

The only reason to even move Hoffman is making room for younger players.

The Habs wont be a cap team this season. They arent paying to move any asset.
