The officiating in general is farcical and will remain so until "game management" is no longer a factor.
Call the rulebook and players will be forced to adapt.
Until then, the sometimes a penalty, sometimes not confusion, will continue to be a blight on the league's reputation.

The reluctance to call obvious penalties to achieve a "balance", even more so as playoff "rules" come into effect, is amateurish.
The DOPS is a joke. The war room can't even decide what is/isn't a goal with consistency.

There's no incentive or deterrent to penalties which can cause injuries unless it is applied regardless of the score or reputation of the players.
You want to stop diving? Review them for suspensions/fines. Send only the diver to the box if there wasn't a legitimate penalty on the play. A crosscheck is a crosscheck regardless of how the victim reacts to it. Don't like it, don't crosscheck.

Young goalies to me are gonna become as valuable if not more so than good RD prospects

As league avg is at an all time low and so many good goalies are aging out of the league.

The problem with young goalies is that they are very unpredictable. All goalies are. Tbh draft pedigree means nothing when you have guys like Devon Levi coming out of the 7th round. I think it is more worth it for teams to draft and develop their own goalies. A good goalie coach can go a long way.
