I still like the idea of adding Timo Meier and he would add depth but to be honest I think Kane would be a much smarter add when it comes to making a playoff push. He would probably be willing to sign a short term contract to be a veteran leader for a couple years. But his All-Star skill, his clutch, and his massive playoff WINNING experience would be such a big add to the team. I see the cost being similar to the Giroux trade

Tried to make it similar to the Giroux trade. Smart thing to do is for no team to trade 2023 1st cause it’s a stacked draft

While Meier is a good fit and they need another scoring piece they will get that piece either through the system or free agency for next year and I am not saying I don’t want Meier. But the best move for them considering that they are a young, INEXPERIENCED team is getting Kane since he will provide lots of scoring and has lots of winning experience and has been a clutch player in big moments
