Let's see: the Avs can trade 1st round pick for a guy that is frequently injured (and is currently injured), having only played 25 games this season, who has no real history of outstanding playoff performance, to ostensibly play him at 2C -OR- the can play a guy that is already on the team that hasn't missed a game this season (and has not missed a lot of time in his career) and has 29 points in 44 games for them so far and has won a Cup with them as a key role-player. Gee, I wonder which is the smarter move? It makes no sense to trade for Monahan, especially not for prime assets, when they already have players on their roster than can do what he does but better and can stay in the lineup.
