Get a RD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>Not a bad idea, but just spit balling here
Is it possible that Davidson kicks tires in Montréal on a Barron or Kovacevic?
I get the Hawks aren't wanting to move draft capital, but given the depth the Habs have on the right side, I wonder if landing one of the youngsters wouldn't be a possibility. Fits this rebuild a bit better I think.</div></div>
That's a possibility too. However, what I was thinking is that Bear has around 250 games of NHL experience. I would rather have him alongside a younger LD than the less experienced Barron or Kovacevic. Plus Bear would only cost $$$ versus trading picks/prospects for either of these young Montreal RD.

Suggestions Megathread
I noticed the "SCOUTNG" tab along the top banner of the home page. It's a nice additional feature to the site. Being a Blackhawks fan I gravitated to the Chicago page and noticed some of their prospects do not have a scouting report. e.g. Colton Dach and Lukas Reichel. Is this feature still a work in progress or is there a different reason for them missing?
And if you're open to a suggestion, maybe you can develop a link to a player's Scouting Report directly from their individual biographical/statistical page. I'm thinking of another blue box labeled "SCOUTING REPORT" adjacent to the TRANSACTIONS, STATUS UPDATE and INJURY UPDATE boxes.

I would if I knew how to post a comment in that thread. I'll work on it.

Chicago isn't paying for Petry to help the Penguins get out of their cap situation. Add 2 second round picks from the Pens and remove the Chicago 2nd rounder going to PIT.

Sorry, Chicago is already well over the cap floor and isn't going to pay to take on 2 cap dumps and a "change of scenery" guy.

Pens get EK Chicago Helps Out
Fair enough. Just wanted to give you a cheap veteran forward to fill out your lineup and since you would still be tight against the cap with the Karlsson trade,
I also think it will be diffiicult to ask any third team to retain a substantial amount of EK's cap hit for 4 years. So I figured by moving Granlund and Petry you'd get about the same cap savings if a 3rd party retention were done. Honestly San Jose could and should retain more than the $3M I showed.

No need to sign OEL. He'll just take up a spot better suited for one of the Hawks' younger LD. Same can be said for extending Caleb Jones.
Hawks won't sign Raanta either. They'll go with the tandem of Mrazek and Soderblom.
Maybe they'll sign 2 of Bunting, Domi and Dadanov or some other forward. It depends if they take on any other F's as other teams' cap dumps. . They can afford to overpay a couple of UFA's to make the cap floor.

Blackhawks Offseason 2023
Hawks decline both trade offers.
As has said here many times before, they are not paying anything to acquire Yamamoto and provide EDM with cap space.
As for the VAN trade, the picks more or less even out so the Hawks would take on Myers cap hit for nothing? It don't work that way.

PIT trade that solves two problems
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>Just thinking about the KD/KD trade history. Mrazek comes to mind for Granlund, but McCabe's deal could be repeated too.</div></div>
I can see a PIT trade. Like you said both Kyles have worked together on recent trades. And Dubas has traded away a ton of picks in recent years at Toronto. I think he may trade #14 for the right price if he wants to improve the team now while Crosby, Malkin, and Letang still have a couple of years left in the tank and worry about the prospect pool later.

Doesn't look too bad. One of the best Chicago rosters I have seen here at ACGM. Nice work.
Move up in the first round - check
Make the cap floor - check
3 young D in the lineup to gain some experience (hopefully Vlasic will get some playing time too) - check
Acquire a few veterans in Boeser, Bailey and Athanisiou - check
Team is still bad enough to possibly get a top 5 pick next season - check

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>Agreed. But, he did recently turn 25 years old. If they don't see him as part of the future because of the rebuild timeline, then we should move him sooner rather than later. So, if they are going to do it, they should do it between now and the 2024 TDL. It is good hypothesize about what it might look like if they make the choice to move him.</div></div>
I guess I see Raddysh as the 2020's version of Patrick Sharp. He could be the veteran top 6 presence to play along side of Bedard, Nazar, Hayes and whoever else they draft this year and next. But I understand the other arguments you and the others are saying about trading him.

I've seen a lot of trades involving Raddysh. I realize he had a 20 goal season last year and is one of the couple of valuable trade chips Davidson has. I hope that doesn't happen and think he could be a building block on this team going forward. I would like to see Raddysh signed next year for about 4-5 years at a reasonable hit. Sooner or later Davidson has to hold on to his young talent rather than trading them away for more draft picks.

It will take more than one 2nd round pick to offload an over 8M cap hit. Add Seattlle's 2024 2nd. Hawks will keep their pick and throw in Mitchell. I don't think he fits into Chicago's long term plsns.

Agree Chicago may make that trade to move up but they won't target a D. Might go after a C like Yager or Danielson.

I noticed my error after I posted. Changed my comment to reflect adding another 1st. Still an overpay IMO.

Chicago does not do those deals. They trade away 6 relatively high picks (getting 1 in return) to get another 1st and to obtain 2 cap dumps and Boesser. They all will not be with the Hawks in 3 years when those players not obtained through the traded away picks will be close to being able to contribute.

this would be so tough for davidson to pull off in reality because all 3 trades would likely have to be made on draft day</div></div>
I hope Davidson has assigned someone to read these ACGM pages to give him some trade ideas. LOL.

Trade Ups
Good start. It would be something if KD pulls that off. He could probably throw in a couple of players, depending on the other teams' needs, to sweeten the pot. Now that he has the 5 1st round picks, I'm sure he'll come up with some moves to package a few of them and move higher up into the 1st round.

Interesting. Let's assume the Toronto trade goes down and proceed to the Pittsburgh trade. I don't know if the draft pick value chart equates 14 to 28 and a couple of later picks. If it does PIT. is getting Granlund's cap space for free, so I would take back one of those picks going to the Pens. At that point would the Hawks be happy with 1, 14 and 19? Or would KD make another splash by trading 19 +++ for VAN's 11th and Boeser. Having picks 1, 11 and 14 would be something.

Chicago declines. They have enough journeyman forwards and won't trade a 3rd pick for another one that has been waived several times in his career.
