Description

Maybe certain teams are not interested in Vrana at full price. A deal like this opens up almost 2m in cap space for DET while the Devils only take on an additional 2m in cap space this year as opposed to the full 5.25m. With a few expiring contracts this offseason, Vrana's 5.25m cap hit wouldn't be a problem next year

He cleared bc he what an awful conditioning stint in the ahl and is not ready to play at the nhl level right now. claiming him doesn’t help him

For the last time, Detroit doesn't need to clear cap space. We need to clear a roster spot to activate Robby Fabbri. So this trade absolutely does us no good.

This would clear that roster spot. Johnsson is through waivers and playing in the AHL.

Well since Vrana cleared waivers as well, he can be sent straight to GR. So that opens up the spot for Robby Fabbri and gives him more time in GR.

You're obviously not understanding the situation. The Wings would never lose Vrana for nothing.

They just passed him through waivers ... that would be losing him for nothing. The willingness to do so has already been shown. There's not an argument to be had there.
