Throwing in Murray reduces the value of that trade from the Jackets' perpsective such that we don't want it. Throwing in Foegele makes it an instant non-starter. We are willing to retain, but we are not willing to take back term and we need compensation to take back cap.

If Foegele were even at 2.25M the view would be different here. 500K doesn’t make a difference to a team like Columbus for this year and next. Getting Gaudreau was rushed for that team but you don’t not sign a player of his calibre if he wants to sign in your city. Even getting Bedard you’ll have too many points to make up for a playoff spot next season. You’re better off to go for one more top 10 pick then bring in a couple more free agents to complete the rebuild. That’s my take

Who's going to be gone besides Nyquist? It's not even a guarantee that he's going to be gone with how much he has talked about wanting to stick it out long term with the Jackets.

If I were you, I'd lose the fansplaining attitude. We know what we have here. Even after removing Nyquist at the deadline and Voracek LTIRetiring, and presuming that KJ and Roslovic play center instead of wing, there are THIRTEEN (13) wingers left here that are ready for NHL minutes. In case you find yourself unable to do the math, that is five (5) more wingers than there are winger spots on an NHL roster.

Once again: less than zero interest in Foegele, we do not want him, stop trying to push him.
