I disagree, KK is at worst a high end defensive 3C and Coghlan is 100% a top 4 RHD who is young and cost controlled. My guess is it’s the Canes who wouldn’t do this deal, not the other way around

Coghlan is not yet a top 4 RHD. Maybe he becomes one. KK is an overpaid 3C who doesn’t produce offensively. Horvat should return at least one premium asset

Canes are perfectly happy with KK. It’s likely to pan out that Necas takes over 2C duties next year with KK being bumped down to 3C, which is the perfect role for him. No reason to waste assets on Horvat, especially when if they really wanted, they could give up nothing and sign him in UFA if they so chose. But since Horvat would likely end up being a rental, there is no deal to be made for Carolina

Very. Kotkaniemi has not put a foot wrong since arriving here. People love to look at his production and laugh, but he's SO good defensively. I don't think the Canes would even think about trading 7 years of s long term 3C who is only 22 at this minute for a rental. I don't think you'll find that happening.
