I could see Schenn getting more than that. Canucks traded Travis Hamonic for a third round pick and he was a worse player, and like 3.5 times more expensive.

Probably too many tweaks to the roster for that to be done at the trade deadline.

I would imagine Konency costs more than 2 1sts, probably Knies+2023 1st or even 3 1sts.

Knies is untouchable. Maybe two 1sts, a 2nd and another prospect. He is exactly what the Leafs need in their top six.

Yea, but at the end of the day, Schenn is still a 6th/7th defenceman. He is depth. He is insurance. Stanley Cup contenders won't cough a 2nd or a 1st for that.

I know but that's what the ask will be. Konency is 25, so he's still young enough to keep if they retool/do a short rebuild. With Couturier out, he's essentially the Flyers best player now. I see him as the forward version of Chychrun.

2 1sts + a 2nd + Robertson or someone else might work but still a steep price for the Leafs to pay imo. He does have some term though so maybe, but Motte (at that price) and Domi are probably not the guys that Dubas would want to replace Kerfoot and Engvall who have to be moved to free up the cap.

Schenn is playing decent in Vancouver so may need more then the third.

Konecny seems more like an off season type trade then a deadline deal. Bunting is doing well on the top line with Matthews and Nylander.

I would think one of Domi or Motte would be alright but not both.

Team is playing well so likely not looking to make a ton of moves and throw off chemistry. I would probably look at something like this.

Bunts-Matthews-Nylander (playing well)
Jarny-Tavares-Marner (Playing well)
Domi/Motte-Kampf-engvall/kerfoot (whichever is kept and traded for) (Need that one play driver on the line)
ZAR-Holmberg-Malgin (Play well together in a shutdown role)

Rielly-Lilly (Lilly proving to be a top 4 D man so far)
Sandin-Brodie (Brodie steadies Sandin's game)
Gio-Schenn (Shutdown pairing for tough minutes)

I would also prefer giving Knies a look over Domi or Motte personally and wouldn't think he would be top 6 ready right away.

I am pretty sure the asking price is a 1st from Vancouver, He's a better player than Chairot and makes 3 times less, I could see a team that's a true cup contender paying a late first for him

Chicago can't flip Kerfoot for a 2nd round pick. If it was possible, you would have just moved him for a 2nd.

To add to that, even if we could "flip" Kerfoot and get a 2nd, that would require another retention slot.

Which we won't have. At full cap hit, Kerfoot is probably worth a 4th or 5th if anything at all
