it's a 2025 1st, it far with a tone of ruling that could make it a 2026 1st. I guess it's not that bad, and if you want to move quick this can help !

Oilers decline. That’s dreadful. I wouldn’t even trade Holloway for Anderson. The guys almost producing at the same rate as Puljujarvi.

Calgary has loads of TDL cap space, they don't need to dump Lucic

shredding Lucic now getting boeser and perhaps a great d-man at tdl with that cap would bolster your team for a deep run

We can trade Lucic to Vancouver instead, he might actually waive there

How does this trade benefit Boston?

Zacha is on pace for 54pts this year, playing in the top 6 and likely takes on a bigger role next year if Krejci/Bergeron retire. Prior to even being traded to Boston he lived in the area and was elated when he was traded here. He's like to re-sign with the Bruins and be part of their future for years to come.

Lucic is on pace for 16pts and a shell of what he used to be. If you bought him out and he would sign with Boston for league min, then maybe I'd be interested in him. Ylonen can't crack a MTL line-up that is average at best. He sure as hell isn't crack Boston's line-up anytime soon, so the value to Boston is low. The 4th add no value at all as the odds of that pick becoming an NHL are very low.

Anderson sucks in the regular season, but he produces even less in the playoffs. 14 points in 43 career games is a 4th line rate.

I wouldn't trade Puljujarvi for Anderson 1-for-1 even with that retention. You're miles from reality here.

No interest in Lucic. You traded for him you keep him.

You add a 1st and swap Smith for Zacha, sure.

Nope but I'm in dire need of a move from my GM so I make Boston fan base move in to have some actions!

I wonder why Ottawa, Edmonton, Cgy then called for Anderson asking if he was avaible!

Because that's their job? Holland calls every GM regularly.

This is something that’s going in habs land far too much.

A phone call doesn’t imply value. Lots of players without value get traded.

Maybe they’re calling to see if MTL would be willing to sweeten the pot - though i find that unlikely.
Maybe they’re calling to see if MTL would be interested in a bad contract swap.
Maybe they’re calling to see if MTL would retain.

We don’t know based off teams being interested what Anderson’s value is.

JAnderson is not playing with 2 of the best players in the league, nor is he on 1st line PP with them, but has more points (not by much, but still). Unsure if he would produce more, worse or equivalent to Pul, but probably worth the risk. I'd say the 1-for-1 aspect would be an improvement.

Anderson v Puljujarvi
28 years old v 24 years old
$5,500,000 v $3,000,000

Here's how they stack up based on this year & last at 5v5. I'm using Rel stats to show how each impacted his team, I.e Edmonton had a +7.53 GF% when Puljujarvi was on the ice:

+0.30 CF% Rel v +6.69
-0.99 SF% Rel v +6.73
-1.79 GF% Rel v +7.53
+0.37 xGF% Rel v +9.40
+1.11 SCF% Rel v +5.99
-2.05 HDCF% Rel v +7.82

Anderson has less of an impact offensively AND defensively than Puljujarvi does. Plus he's older and much more expensive. Even if Montreal offered to retain $2.5M a 1-for-1 trade makes Edmonton worse now and in the long run.

Last year imploding habs team + this year new d-core ... perspectives guys PERSPECTIVES! Try to put the guy on your roster and tell me how you can project him and with who. Now knowing that 6 clubs called for the last 8 months tell me WHY people are calling him a cap dump, a third liner... What or why GM are seeing something you don't ??

The fact that Anderson was on a bad team last year doesn't help his case, as I used Rel numbers. It's EASIER to put up good Rel numbers on a bad team, as you're being compared to your teammates. Puljujarvi is being compared to the likes of McDavid and Draisaitl in the stats above, and still comes out far ahead of Anderson.
