LA says no and Greenway kinda sucks and Buffalo is doing Minnesota a favor by taking his contract - Minnesota should add

Greenway is untouchable. He also doesn't "suck". His value is far more than his point totals indicate. His contract is fine.

All of this being a moot point because, as I said, he's untouchable. The Big Rig is staying in Minnesota for the foreseeable future.

If Jordan Greenway is untouchable then they should shut down AGM, because then 3/4 of the league is.

Doesnt score, doesnt hit, averages 14 minutes of ice time, his defensive stats are ok but they arent elite and far from untouchable, and hes turning 26 this season - he isnt breaking out. Completely over hyped

Clearly you have no idea what you're talking about. But I agree this deal will never happen. That's because BUF's package is laughable, though.

No from Winnipeg. The Jets need Dillon and don't really need Olofsson.

Doesn't hit?

In the last three seasons he has totals of 95 hits 3 seasons ago, 87 hits 2 seasons ago, and finally... 155 hits last year.

That's 337 hits in the last 3 years, and he nearly doubled his hit total last season alone. It's fair to say he's already *broken out*. He *broke out* in terms of production two seasons ago, and *broke out* in terms of physicality last year.

He was third highest in total amount of hits on the Wild roster last year. Behind only Marcus Foligno (238), and Brandon Duhaime (201), and ahead of Joel Eriksson-Ek (138) and Matt Dumba (114).

By comparison the top 5 in total hits by Sabers players last year were Rasmus Dahlin (121), John Hayden (104), Mattias Samuelsson (100), Robert Hagg (97), and finally Casey Fitzgerald (86).

Furthermore, most powerforwards take until 26 to develop fully. And he won't be 26 until February.

But please, keep talking.

Greenway is one of the Wild's most physical players and easily a middle-six powerforward in terms of production. He isn't available.

He's had over 100 hits once in his career, and that wasn't even top 50 in the league. Compared to the Sabres, the Sabres are literally the weakest team in the league. The smartest kid on the short bus isn't an honors student. He was also 4th on Minnesota and was the average for his line last year

Huh? I literally just showed and listed to you he was THIRD on our roster. Not fourth. Or is reading comprehension that difficult?

Fine. Let's re-list it again shall we.

By team:
1) Marcus Foligno - 238
2) Brandon Duhaime - 201
3) Jordan Greenway - 155
4) Joel Eriksson-Ek - 138
5) Matt Dumba - 114

By Line:
1) Marcus Foligno - 238
2) Jordan Greenway - 155
3) Joel Eriksson-Ek - 138

And that *average* on his line is notable by virtue of that same line being the best shutdown line in hockey last year. A line that allowed only 5 goals against all season last year, when the next best shutdown line had over 10.

Whether he's in the top 50 for hits is literally meaningless to the discussion. He'd be the most physical player you'd have on roster, as a 34 gap in hits between him and your most physical player (Dahlin) isn't insignificant.

Hes 3rd on the current roster with last years stats, however Nic Deslaurier played 20 games there last year and had 263 hits on the season. He would be the most physical player on the Sabres, I will give you that, but that doesnt make him good nor untouchable. There were 137 players in the league more physical than any Sabre, so yes that rank does matter, especially when there are players above and around him that are better NHLers in total

This is somewhat splitting hairs here, and kinda semantically irrelevant, but...

210 of Desluariers hits last year came while playing for Anaheim. He only had 53 hits through those 20 games with us. While still high, 3.25, his h/gp actually dropped when he got to Minnesota last year.

The point I'm trying to make is that those three, Foligno/Duhaime/Greenway, are are more or less untouchable given the consideration that they represent our three most physical players.

If other players are more to your liking, great! Trade for them instead. But it's ridiculous to sit there and say Greenway sucks when he's been excellent for and on the team he plays for, and at the end of the day... that's all that matters.

I wouldn’t say Duhaime is untouchable. He’s playing 10 minutes a night. Greenway and Foligno yes. You don’t want to break up the GREEF line

Then who replaces Foligno, once he inevitably leaves/retires? Or fills in for him if he's out with injury?

Again, Duhaime had 201 hits last year. 2nd most on the team behind only Foligno. Which makes him our 2nd most physical player. The Wild coaching staff, in particular Dean Evason, used Foligno as the comparable type of player that they felt Duhaime could grow into last year during an interview, when Duhaime was still a rookie.

The kid is basically a younger version of Foligno.

If we're not moving Foligno and Greenway for their physicality, which the team sorely needs, it doesn't make sense to make a younger version of Moose whose already the 2nd most physical player on the roster available either.
