its over, we arent making the playoffs.
if the bar is 95 points and we only have 9 points 12 games in we would have to go .81p% thats a 100 point pace. That is not happening. So lets burn it to the ground
JTM trade:
"When a team trades a player, they have the option to retain a part of their salary (and cap hit). The team who retains the salary then pays the retained percentage of the salary, and also retains the percentage of the cap hit until the contract expires." - https://www.capfriendly.com/faq
as Miller's current contract would expire, his next one would be on the TML books for next season
Pearson trade:
At this point Pearson does not have much value but is still not a cap dump, I think that the 4th is fair value, or maybe we just get future considerations for him
Brock Trade:
People will say that he is injury prone, I rant about this in the trade itself but he is just unlucky, he had an injury from a door that hit his back, if he had back problems, that would be injury prone, but if he has gotten unlucky I think that he is fine and should not be considered a risk. Kupari has not really launched as he was expected to, Grans is stuck behind Doughty, Roy, Durzi, Walker, Clarke, and Spence, hes too far down the depth chart that it makes more sense to trade him as opposed to keep him. Canucks would probably have to take some bad salary back as well or LAK could move someone out.
Dermott trade:
Make room for Rathbone, he needs a long run up with the big boys
Schenn trade:
I love schenn, but he is an expiring UFA and we can always resign him, he means a lot to the locker room and he is a very good defenceman when he is put in the right position. Some will say that schenn wont be traded but I think we should, we should take on bad cap and allow schenn to make a cup run because we owe that to him, he has won it twice and a team would trade for him for his defencive capabilies and his presence in the locker room
Stilman trade:
I get why we got him, but at the same time I dont, seems like he was a facade covering up the fact we were paying to get rid of Dickinson
Myers trade:
He is a good defender, he can help your team and he is probably our best PK defender, he would be a #4 on a contender, hes our #3 but with retained salary hes a good get. Another option would be to wait until July 1 to trade him because he will only be owed 1M and have a cap hit of 6m, the perfect mix for a team looking to get to the cap floor and not wanting to spend money
Essentially getting him for a playoff run with this contract retained, and then resigning him in the offseason at his value, keep in mind that this is a reasonable price to pay for a LW,C who plays in all situations and was once a 99 point scorer, probably good for 70-75 points in a given year for the next 5 years after this one
Some have questions about brock's health, he is not injury prone, he had his stitches come out and they took him off as a precautionary measure, hes ok. nucks might have to take back some bad money, this is a TDL deal and assuming boeser is at a 30 goal pace on the season
Same type of trade as pearson except for the roster spot, hes a low cap hit that we have more coming up and we need that spot and hes easier to trade than OEL
Laugh all you want, Myers has been our best defencive defenceman, at 4m that is market value or might even be better, if you dont think that is market look no further than Gudbranson
He's really not. Kopitar is a much better skater than Boeser is.
I am not sure you have ever actually watched hockey. Boeser isn't as explosive as he should be but he's definitely way better at skating than Kopitar is. I doubt there is a single player slower than Kopitar.

He might look slow because he's such a big guy, but he regularly blows by defenders on offense and often catches forwards from behind coming back on defense. That's why he's a perennial Selke candidate.
Even if he's not the fastest guy in the league, he's still a very good skater.

He's so so so slow. Using a clip from a decade ago. When was Hamerlyk still a player lol. Went deep to find a clip of him looking fast eh?

Like come on man, Hamrlik was last in Montreal in 2011. That's ridiculous
Would much rather have Liljegren than JT Miller, especially considering Miller's contract. It's simply too long, I think Canucks are stuck with him until the last year or two.
So bad for the Leafs.. Miller and his contract and Schenn for Kerfoot, Liljegren and 1st and 2nd. Gee the Leaf might not be any better this season with the trade, never mind picking up a 30 year old, 8 year contract and giving up a 1st and 2nd.
Remember when Nucks fans wanted a top prospect and 2 firsts for Miller?? LOL good luck getting anyone to even give up a 1st and a B prospect for that contract
It was the first video I could find in like 30 seconds of searching. There's plenty of examples if you want to look them up.
I know how good of a skater Kopitar is, I don't need convincing.
Even if Kopitar was one of the slowest skaters in the league, he is exactly the type you make an exception for. He has been one of the best 2-way centers in the league for 15 years
