Description
Sounds like the Jets will be forced to make a trade soon, as Heinola is getting frustrated with the Jets as he is still in the minors. IMO he is an NHL d man and could even be an upgrade on some of our current D. There are 2 possibilities... 1, Heinola requests a trade and the Jets trade him. Or 2, Jets trade a D to give Heinola an extended look in the NHL. Personally I think they will try to make room for him.

A team in need of a D man is the Sens. Artem Zub is injured and they need a replacement right now, as they see themselves as a playoff team. A player they could use is Dylan DeMelo. The Jets are already weak on the right side however, Heinola played the right side in camp and looked pretty good. The Jets need forward help and the Sens have currently unsigned RFA Alex Formenton. Formenton would be a nice young possible middle 6 forward option which is an area that the Jets need to look at.

Détails additionnels:
Formenton's value is at an all-time low as he is holding out for a better contract. And Lassi Thompson is kind of in tee same situation as Heinola, as he hasn't gotten much NHL time.

I think trading Dillon would be best case scenario. Don't think Demelo returns that much either.

I don't think Formenton is holding out. I think the sens aren't signing him due to the hockey canada investigation

No from Winnipeg. Neither Ottawa player is appealing enough to move a top 4 RHD for.

I think it's both, the Sens are probably waiting for him to take their offer, or will try to deal him, or sign him just before the deadline, at the end of the day though they are going to run low on cash if they want to resign DeBrincat and Zub and can't move Zaitsev. So, they probably have a lowball offer on the table for now.

Where's this coming from about Heinola?

I was calling it that he'd be making a trade request so it wouldn't surprise me if he has, also don't think the Jets will make a trade of one of their current dmen to get Heinola in the lineup.

Forgot where i read it, but agent not happy with client in minors, pretty much exactly how you said it would go.

Anything come of the rumours of him having the smoking gun, or more proof that he’s possibly the smoking gun. Blackball rumours also on this one.

Formenton has zero value, which is why Ottawa will not trade him this year.

DeMelo was traded to Winnipeg for a 3rd so I don't think he has the trade value that you think he has. More likely it would be someone like Roby Jarventie and a 3rd for him.

Maybe Dubois and Heinola could be packaged to MTL for a very good return. Both players agent are french Canadian.

I still believe that Dubois/scheifele/helly end up splitting wheelers money on longterm deals, about 2 to 3 million dollar raises above current each and 5 to 8 year terms. Dubois either saving face or all ready changing his tune realizing Winnipeg is home for a year and possibly to the trade deadline a year later.

If any of those three players won't consider an extention with Winnipeg after the playoffs ends, they're gonna have to consider trading them at the draft.

You get the best value for them if they extend with their new team right after the trade happen. Could wait for TDL and get decent rental prices if out of playoffs.

His value is higher cause he has a year left on his deal, when the jets dealt for him he was a pending UFA. He's a super valuable player. He can slide next to pretty much any LD and give you good shutdown minutes. He cant score to save his life though...like at all

Ive wanted the jets to move a D man or two to make room for guys like Heinola and Samberg. Samberg got his shot, but only after Stanley went out. Giving Heinola a long look at the NHL is what needs to happen to show his value so they can either move him for a package or move someone else and give him those minutes.

Crazy that people are still proposing him in ACGMs.

Formenton is not playing NHL hockey this year. For the future, we'll see but it's either he has ZERO value or a LOT MORE than the actual perceived value
