So like a 3rd/4th gets it done? I would compare him to the price of garland (3rd/4th), a winger with a bit of term (not as much as garland). Term is something other teams don't want but the Jets need to acquire players with term.

I don't like the idea of giving up the 24 1st. you have no idea what will happen next year with likely no Dubois, and maybe a scheif/helle trade. If they did move the 24 1st there would be conditions but I would still rather give the 23 1st.

Do you watch any Jets games? Dubois is an animal. He is one of the strongest players in the league. I don't think I have seen anyone protect the puck like him. He is a franchise centreman. He plays well in both ends of the ice plus is a beast net-front on the PP. And just looking at his #'s this year... 51P in 49 games and Cozens has 43P in 47 games.

If you are waiting for a top-10 pick, it's not going to happen. Heinola is an NHL-ready D at the age of 21 and Chibrikov is going to be a middle 6 shooter that can play the PP. You are over valuing Meier.

Im just going off the rumour that the package will be about the same as Debrincat (top-10 pick, high 2nd, high 3rd), maybe less). The first isn't a top-10 pick... however, this draft is a lot better than last year so a late first this year equates to a mid 1st last year. Heinola is an NHL-ready D man at the age of 21... so I would say he is worth more than a high 2nd last year which again is worth less than a high 2nd this year. The Jets could probably add another late pick, but I think you are overvaluing Meier. The 10M QO is going to lower his value significantly.

Also I agree Meier isn't worth 10M... so the only way you make that trade is if it comes with an extension. If not Im looking at a Garland or a Mantha, which would only cost a 2nd/3rd.

I agree. Just going off the rumour of a 2nd/3rd. A 3rd with a serviceable bottom 6'er, a guy that still has potential, and a 5th to retain. I think that gets it done. **Plus I said if the Jets make the 2nd round (Which I feel is almost guaranteed) it upgrades to a 2nd.

I have been saying that the Jets need a top 4 D more then a top 6 F for the past month. They need to replace pionk... either move him down or move him out.

The Jets need to at least have an idea if PLD and Scheif want to stay before the deadline so they can look at trades like this. If either of them say they don't want to stay beyond their current deals, then I would pull the trigger on a Horvat deal. You go into the playoffs with by far the best center depth in the league, PLD, Scheif, Horvat, Lowry, then you look at trading either Scheif or PLD in the offseason.

Would it really only cost a first plus a few meh prospects?

I just can't see Heinola getting sent down unless those two games are outliers and he doesn't play well in the next few. I really want the jets to move a Pionk or schmidt for an upgraded demelo that can provide more offence.

Morrissey should be able to help Heinola defensively as well.

It looks like samberg could use a few games in the AHL.
