I would have loved:
Hutson - Dumais - Grudinin - Grebenkin - Lisowsky (can’t argue with the last two picks).

The Minten and Hildeby picks are the ones I have the most issue with.

I don't buy the Dumais hype. Puts up a ton of points but every time I watch him I'm underwhelmed.

Projecting Q scoring to the next level is almost impossible. Some definite concerns with his pace and 5v5 D.

And I really do like Moldenhauer a lot, especially if the Steel develop him as a C.

I just really love Dumais playmaking abilities and even tho he lacks the straight line speed you’d like to see in a small forward, he can generate enough speed with some strong edge work to evade attackers and change direction on a dime. He will be fun to watch and see how he develops.

Man I dont want to trade him but u got to think with Knies being almost untouchable teams will be asking for Niemela

As to me he can be in the NHL next year on the third pair and within 2 years work his way up

But man **** that new coach as sure he trusts Niemela but never allowed him to do what he was doing last year. As by now he would probs have more points than he did last season

Gotta think one year in the AHL is going to be "mandatory" for Niemela. 24/25....Reilly, Sandin, Liljegren, Niemela in the top 6.

I feel hes gonna be one of those make it out of camp candidates. As man in Liiga last year he looked really good to the point where 3rd pair wasnt out of the question. This year little struggle but new coach aint helping things with him or letting him do his thing. Like yeah he may be in the AHL but like Schneider could graduate within a month

Hope so. But a contender team just can't "hope" an ELC player is good enough to make the big club by December. Gotta base the cap around going with top seven in October.
Lets see, Reilly, Brodie, Sandin, Lilgegren, Giordano. Then it's crap shoot right now. Does Muzzin return? Does Holl and maybe Benn resign? Holloway? Timmins? I don't know of any other Marlies the Leafs could depend upon.

All I see in Dumais is a player smart enough to take advantage of the abysmal defensive structures he plays against. He's a really poor straight line skater, has a muffin of a shot, useless off puck, not particularly shifty or evasive especially for such a small player...

I'd be pretty surprised if he becomes an impact player in the NHL

Oh its not gonna be this year next year once Holl leaves via FA.

He and Timmins will most likely battle for that spot

As for 2023 pairs probs

Rielly-Liligren
Sandin-Brodie
Gio-Timmins/Niemela

Muzzin to me is done. When hearing other athletes who have gone through similar injury discuss the recovery man I dont see him back for this or next season. So its Sandin time and so far so good. But as I said the above is probs for 2023 unless they bring someone in for top pair RD

Ty Voit not being invited to team USA for this years WJC is one of the oddest things I have seen in a while

As I guess leading the OHL in points means jack **** when they invite a 1st round disaster in Boucher.

Also rip Pastujov both should have been invited

Well 2024 we got to eligible guys so lets see

One prospect that has really impressed me this year is Max Ellis. The Leafs liked him enough to give him an ELC, and he has not disappointed. Him and Slaggert have been quite the formidable duo at times. Great skater, plays defense very well, and battles hard. His skill is not talked about nearly enough and I could easily see him rounding out the fourth line next year

Im glad he's getting more time at the wing. He looked decent as a center and put up great totals, but the defensive responsibility isnt there yet. Should be more beneficial to have him on the wing
