Yeah no. Carolina are going to use the cap space they could blow on Dvorak to re-sign Aho. Thanks though

Isles aren’t paying a first and a second for Josh Anderson. Anderson isn’t even better than Cizikas lmao

Your valuations are all over the map. Everyone else will be here to tell you MTL players are trash (they're not but everyone will hate on them anyway) but I'm simply stating you're valuations of each player are pretty messed up. Dvo retained should bring the same if not more than Anderson. The NSH trade is hilarious and the CGY is not bloody likely. MTL is a team deep at LD and you've added players to that side that won't be there ever since, yanno, we have a good LD prospect pool.

This isn't really straight ahead, it's more of a swirling around the proverbial toilet bowl.

Josh Anderson has negative value lmao, no from the islanders. I am telling you that other islanders fans will not be as nice as me, so unless you wanna get spammed with hate then i recommend you just delete this islanders trade

Ya that’s a bad concept! Now if he can also play LD or we lose a RD to injury this might be considered but. Or with a healthy RD lineup

Can we quite the 'Anderson has negative value' thing. Any actual person will tell you that's not true. The Islanders not being interested in him I understand but this thought that NHL GMs don't value him is just delusional

Why would the Habs do the Canes trade? Is it that important for the Habs to get rid of Dvorak? Regardless of the destination or the cap situation for the Canes - don’t understand retaining long term to basically dump a player.

Canes will spend the money they would be blowing on Dvorak and use it on Aho instead.

If Anderson is making 2.75 I’d pay Cizikas and a 3rd for him if that helps

This.. this is just all sorts of sideways. Carolina spends a 3rd to get a middle 6C that has consistently underperformed, in turn putting them in a position that they can't afford an elite 1C and Montreal gets him? The Calgary trade is beyond laughable, make it the 2023 1st and maybe Treliving stays on the phone long enough to hear Hughes finish the word "Gallagher".

-Dvorak isn't a dump at this point. I think he gets overvalued by some Habs fans but this is way too much of an overcorrection. Retaining 3x$2.25M would cost at least a 2nd, and then throw in whatever asset you think he's worth for a trade. With the Habs having cap space, it makes no sense to just dump him off like this.

-David Savard might be a dump at this point; beyond that, why would the Rangers give up an asset for an RD with term when they literally just traded Nils Lundkvist away two days ago because they have too many RHD? Also, where are they getting the cap to pay for Savard's $3.5M hit?

-Again, another trade where the team receiving the Habs player doesn't have the cap space to acquire them. There's no sense for the Islanders to spend a 1st and a 2nd to get another middle-6 winger when they already have more than enough, and that's before you get to his contract that has the potential to make Brendan Gallagher's deal look like a steal.

-Speaking of Gallagher, no idea why the Flames are doing this. Two good young wingers for a guy aging like he just drank from the wrong cup at the end of the Last Crusade. The 2024 1st might be enough for a team to swallow Gallagher's 5x$6.5M that he has left, but you need to add something BIG to get both Mangiapane and Dube from Calgary - talking a top-line player or slam dunk prospect type of add.

-Anaheim's a fun team to use here, seeing as they just acquired Dmitry Kulikov and his 1x$2.25M from the Wild for free. Did you know that Kulikov, a defenseman, had 10 more points last year than Joel Armia did? It's true! He put up 7-17-24 in 82 GP while Armia had 6-8-14 in 60 GP. And Armia has a higher cap hit with a longer term (3x$3.4M). If Kulikov doesn't warrant a positive return in this cap strapped world, why would Armia get something back?

EDITING: Realized this is a 2024-25 team but unless the cap jumps up the point stands. All the players you're dumping will have less term, sure, but they'll all be 2 years older and most of them will be on the wrong side of 30. Just bad values all around.

I wouldn't even give up a second for a LD, we have too many players to give chances to.
