That Boston deal can make a lot of sense for both sides, even if it goes against NHL religion lol.

I take it you are not sold on Primeau?

I like him. but not really a guy that can anchor a team back to the playoffs.

Primeau is still young.

Not sure next year the Habs are much better..... not a playoff team even with Ullmark.

Still, he would absolutely stabilize the goaltending. Can't move forward without doing that.

About the last thing in the world COL is trading for is a LD that making almost $5M. Like seriously what’s the logic when they have Toews, Byram and Girard not enough cap space and zero need.

Colorado doesn't really need Matheson

That Boston deal isn't that bad for either side if Montreal wants to accelerate the rebuild.

Unless I'm underrating Beaupit and Viel bc idk much about them, i think Montreal should get more for taking on Vlasic.

Tell me you dont follow hockey outside Colorado without telling me you dont follow hockey outside Colorado.

Matheson isnt a cap dump. That contract will be a steal in 2 years with the cap climbing. He will probably be on their top pair all year. He had a fantatsic season in PIttsburgh. Moves the puck well, skates and covers a lot of ice.

You did received the notice, every players here that doesn’t score 80 points are cap dump. A third line center who play 18-20 minutes a season and put up 35-45 point at 3,5 to 4,5 millio s is a cap.

Woah woah woah, Avs need someone who can at least play 25min a season lol.
Matheson was moved in two bad cap swaps. Dump might be too harsh but its not far off. He wouldn't take a spot and if "girard has to be moved because of cap", bringing in Matheson isnt the answer.

There were a bunch of Avs fans that said Lehkonen was overpaid and a bum before the trade happened. Most moves here are overanalyzed and dismissed, easily. The receipts are out there!

Don’t see Boston moving Ullmark for 3rd line center. They already have Coyle. Boston re-signs Zacha they have 2 middle 6 centers set.

They most likely move him for picks and prospects to gain cap space. This is a backwards move.

I am not afraid to admit wrongs or bad takes. Lehk was one, but at least the opportunity for him to expand his role was there in spades. Matheson I don't see it.
Why would the avs bring on a 4th lhd making 4+ with term. IF he was an expiring ufa as an insurance piece, sure I can see his fit easily. Who are you moving to keep Matheson?

How does it make any sense for boston? Boston has zero need for Dvorak, and his contract stinks.

Kreji is 36 and Bergeron is 37. So unless Coyle eats a Scooby Snack, Studnicka downs a bowl of Wheaties and Zacha has a Freaky Friday moment with the aforementioned Bergeron - yeah it can make a lot of sense.

Maybe you failed to notice thos was for next season. So make that a 37 year old Kreji and a 38 year old Bergeron.

I think I stand by "it can make sense" analysis.

Maybe you failed to realize what coyle, and Dvorak both are, slightly overpaid 3rd line center. Why would Boston want two of those?

Dvorak is Coyle. Don’t need 2 of them. I don’t get the fascination with him. Career high season is 37 points.

82 game average for his career 18g 23a. Coyle 15g 24a. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Who said I was fascinated.

Just said an Ullmark for Dvorak deal could make sense.

May not need two of a similar player, but centres don't grow on trees.

I know what they are.

Ullmark isn't likely to fetch a top 6 centre imo. Bruins are in real trouble if Begeron and Kreji hang it up (which could very well happen)..... and the cap space is tight.

Again... COULD male sense.
