well you see actually almost any account that posts analytics show that makar actually is better defensively and offensively their is no one even close to makar's skill level. physicality is overrated, nurse/ ristolainen/ gudas/ schenn out physicalize all them doesn't mean they are better.

im literally a bruins fan and have no problem saying makar is better then mcavoy and the best dman by far in the league so stop being biased.


funny think that you talk about physicality though as makar had 95 hits in 77 games and hedman had 93 hits in 82 games and was 11th on tampa for hits so i think you are overrating how physical hedman actually is for a guy that is 6'6 240 you'd expect a little more from him

Is Makar’s defense as good as Hedman no, but his defense is a lot closer to Hedman than Hedman’s offense is to Makar. That’s not a knock on Hedman, it’s just a testament to how talented Makar is, I mean he is a top 5 player in the world right now and ascending I’ve seen it in multiple places that people call him the MacDavid of dmen.

I see what you mean but I don’t think those guys are interchangeable. There is a set top 5 of dmen in the nhl. Makar number 1, then Hedman Fox Josi and McAvoy in any order.

He's actually quite solid defensively and fairly physical. Personally I don't rate him head and shoulders above the rest but I simply understand what OP was saying
