Kyle Connor is absolutely insane . Hellybuck would be really good in front of this defence . Severson at this point would be the 3rd pair and Nemec is coming in. Upgrading Mercer to Connor is spectacular and those 2 1sts with this team would be very late

One thing I think that needs to be fixed is the assumption of WPG's goals. This trade assumes they are rebuilding, which means a pending UFA in Severson doesn't make any sense. Thats the biggest thing that needs to be fixed.

Tatar and Blackwood are contract/cap dumps which is fine.

So the question is would Connor get more than Mercer + 1st and would Helle get more than 1st + 2nd.


I would say swap Holtz for Severson, add in AJ for the extra cap dump.

Trade Severson some place else.

Severson is a Manitoba kid. We can sign him to an extension. Blackwood is a young goalie still and definitely a guy I’m willing to let be our starter during a rebuild
