rental goalie that neither PIT nor TOR will be able to afford past this season, for a 2nd and a prospect. Goalies are pretty uncertain and don't usually go for that much unless they are elite. May have underpaid a bit and could add a bit, but its not THAT far given the circumstances

For that reason, these moves make no sense for TOR. You have 7.5m to sign 6 guys, another 7m to sign bunting + sign 2 goalies the next season

Pittsburgh only needs to give Jarry a 1.5m raise, at most 2.5m. They can try to move one of their 4m defenders for a 2m one to free up some cap.
NYR trading Chytil for picks (or Kerfoot) doesn't make sense.

Underpaid a bit? Underpaid A LOT and the Pens will find a way to keep him. Dumo's hit comes off the books next year.

The Penguins have $34 mil in cap space for the 23-24 season, so its tough to say we'll be unable to afford him. Also, might I remind you that the price Colorado gave up for one year of Darcy Kuemper was a 1st, a 3rd, and a better prospect than Abramov. Kuemper is a great goalie, but I wouldn't consider him to be elite. Jarry's trade price isn't as high as what Kuemper got for Arizona, but yes you are that far off given the circumstances.
