Ottawa passes.

Andrew Copp had 100 P in 174 GP (0.57 PPG, 47 pts in 82 gp) in the three years prior to being traded to New York as a post-deadline rental for Barron, a cond. 2nd that can become a 1st and another 2nd. Connor Brown has 117 P in 191 GP (0.61 PPG, 50 pts in 82 gp) in the last three years with Ottawa. He has a full year on his deal at $3.6M (or $1.8M if they retain 50% like here).

If this were to happen in the offseason, it'll take more than this. An offseason trade would give a full year of Brown, whereas only a couple months of Copp got a similarish quality prospect and better picks. Simply, Compher doesn't hold as much value to the Sens as he's being given here. They have too many of him.

It's hard because Colorado doesn't have many picks, but I imagine any trade for Brown would look something like Copp's but better as he's a better player and he'd have more time on his deal. The Sens probably expect a 1st in there, along with another decent pick (2nd or 3rd) and a decent prospect (like Barron was/is).

Bowers has never played an NHL game. Definitely can’t be 3C.

Helm has been lackluster in Colorado. Probably better to experiment with someone else.

NAK is likely cheaper than that, most of the UFAs are probably a bit more expensive.

I haven’t been blown away by Manson, I’d rather pick up some cheap depth D and bolster the middle 6 forwards more.

Im gunna assume its a mistake youve placed Brown ahead of Rantanen in the lineup.
as for the deal, doesnt make sense for either team. Comphers been steady and COLs prospect pool is thin, why move Foudy and two 3rd rd picks for a one year rental?

Too much quantity, not enough quality for Ottawa.

Try again.

usually 1 year rentals are more expensive at the deadline than at the season stars. (if you look at past years exemples it becomes clear). so keeping him at until the deadline is probably what the sens should do. i dont necessarwly expect him to get more than copp, but he might if he gets another solid good season.

I’m sorry but the “upgrade” to Brown from Compher isn’t worth Foudy + two 3rds. Nor does having Brown over Compher make the difference between them winning or losing lol

i mean you might not like it , but you also did not predict the price sakic would pay for lekhnoen. maybe i shoukd be higher on foudy but im not? anyway, i still feel this 100% a move a contender should consider, and usually contender's fan are mostly disppointed by the price they have to pay to get a player at the deadline.

You are off your rocker to think that Foudy and two 3rds is what separates Brown from Compher (essentially three 3rd rd picks?) lol

You are even more delusional if you think “upgrading” from Compher to Brown would make any noticeable improvement (enough to pay that ridiculous asking price). Browns playoff numbers blow your mind? 5 pts?

i'm pretty sure of you ask most fanbase they would rather have brown than compher. now i dont think why you think 3 3rd are worth so much...

And with that statement, I know without a doubt, you aren’t knowledgeable enough to be having this argument with me XD

Ottawa needs to extend Brown.

If they can't, they have to target more quality, less quantity
