Both teams are willing to give their 22 1st plus for a top 4 d or a top 6 impact winger. Bert and Hronek fit the bill. Bert brings in more than Hronek because of the unique type of player he is. Similar to the Tkachucks, Marchand or Wilson. Bert does it all. I think if Bert is traded he brings what Mantha did or more. Vaccine restrictions should be over by the 22-23 season which was his only con. Bert is worth a 1st and Holtz for a team that means business. Hronek is worth less, but still a 1rst and a prospect or so. He's had some bad defensive numbers this year on one of the worst defensive teams in the league. It's not all on him. With a little support he's a top2-4 minute eating offensive d that will score 1/2- 3/4 ppg.

Both Kevin Allen and Bob Duff said that Bertuzzi will want quite a bit to remain in Detroit. He's easily getting at minimal $6,500,000 per and probably more I don't see Yzerman giving anymore than $6,500,000 x 5-6 years to Bertuzzi. So he'll probably get dealt possibly at the draft.

Sounds reasonable. I had the same thought on term for Bert. If he does get delt he will get a nice haul. I can't see trading him for less than a 1st and a top prospect or good player.

Bert isn't and won't be an rfa. You mentioned similar players, they are both 30 goal top 6 wingers this year. That's where the similarities end. Bert provides physicality, grit and toughness that fiala can't touch. He is a proven playoff performer and a locker room favorite. I would think a team with lots of talent looking for an impact " heart and soul" player to push them over the top and help them now, Bert is a great choice. I will take a package similar to the trade mentioned to aquire him.
