Blowing it up I could see happening. But the Cat and Hagel returns are a little light, I think. As a CHI fan, I like the Kane return, but I know NYR fans probably won't.

Kane return should involve Laf or K Miller.
Also tanking for Bedard and leaving him with no one to play with is also a solid plan to get nowhere fast.

The best goalie prospect in the entire world and a first round pick aren’t enough?? If anything the wild say no.

kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't with 38 and 12. I felt getting the #2 ranked prospect in the Kings organization plus a first and change was a fair return for 12 and that a league-wide top goalie prospect plus a first for 12 was fair, idk.

I think the Wild are going to be so desperate for controlled, lower cap hit players, that they'd be willing to part with a prized future asset to win now

Jesper Wallstedt is gonna be in the league next year, on a three year deal worth 925k, isn’t that the definition of a cost-controlled, lower cap hit player? He’s also gonna be their cornerstone goaltender for the next 10-15 years so I highly doubt they give that up for a cheap band-aid to get them through 2 years of cap hell

you think he's gonna skip an AHL season and immediately be the answer in net for teams with Cup aspirations? Probably not, it takes a while for goalies, look to Knight and Hart. It takes a while to get comfortable and I don't think Billy G is going to have the patience to wait that out.

He’s having a really good season in the top Swedish men’s league as a 19 year old. The difference between him and Knight and Hart is the latter 2 didn’t play against men until they were ready to make the jump to the league. Also think Minnesota is going to take a step back these next two years and try and develop some more younger players, gonna be really hard to contend for a Cup when you have a $14 mil handicap.

I think you’re on something if you think wallstest and a 1st is what it takes for Hagel. He’s worth like a 2nd and a 3rd. Wallstest is basically untouchable for the wild, same as rossi and boldy.

“They need cap” - they have contracts they will shed and keep their team intact. So save the nonsense

Light was the wrong word to use. It's not the value of the prospects themselves, but the needs of the organization. We need solid forward prospects not more D and Goalies. We already have two pretty darn promising goalie prospects and a log jam on defense. Then again, it depends what the plan is now that Davidson is officially in. Is he planning on dismantling this team? If it's full on rebuild time with no holds barred, you can't have too much of a good thing.

i feel like regardless of what happens at the deadline, he's going to try and course correct for the lack of defensive prospects Bowman developed, to be a contender, you need a norris-level guy, and I think people would say they don't have one right now

Strictly speaking he’s learning disabled or on the spectrum - it’s not a diss, so don’t get me wrong, this guy has gone through like 6 accounts in the last year and every couple accounts he changes his life circumstances claim. Maybe just clarifying not changing, but yea. Just wanted to throw it out there as a little “I’m with you, but also give him a little
Break” lol

to be fair, Nils Lundkvist was named the SEL's best d-man as a 20 year old.
when he came to NA, he struggled a bit and it was clear he needed some time in the minors.
not everyone is the same, but you can't just assume Wallstedt is going to be ready on day 1.

Sure. I guess. We'll see. I'm honestly just sick of speculating. This club doesn't really make sense. And I hope Davidson can make some sense out of it.
