I kinda like the idea of Schueneman having a shot in the big club, but you obviously need a reliable #6 or #7D because that bottom pairing is risky.

Dallas isn't taking Petry at full value they don't have the cap space even if they move Klingberg, Dallas can't afford Petry unless they retain at least $1,250,000 and make him a $5,000,000 Dman.

After considering, maybe Romanov-Schueneman as the 2nd pairing and Harris-Savard as the 3rd pairing. Martin St-Louis already showed he likes Schueneman because of course he is good, and Savard could be a mentor for Harris or Guhle or Norlinder. Whoever have the better camp.

Still, both Harris & Schueneman are question marks at the NHL level, so are Guhle & Norlinder. I feel like you have to get a Braun/Kukan/Hägg or any mainstay 3rd pair guy just in case.

If DAL trade Klingberg at the TDL despite having a chance to make the playoffs & they want Petry, MTL could retained but the price would go up. If they are not and rather wait in the offseason to trade for Petry, then the offer above is fine. But thanks

Dallas declines. You’re not getting a significant asset like Stankoven for Petry. I know what Montreal WANTS for Petry, but he’s done nothing this year to show he’s worth anything close to that value.

So he was amazing for 4 seasons in a row, have the worse Coach in NHL history, have family issues right now (they are in the U.S) plays for the worse team in NHL right now so he is having a bad 40 games stretch (the whole team outside Lehkonen & Romanov) so he lost all is value … but since St-Louis came he is turning is game, so if he has a good 2nd half of the season it is really realistic or he might go for more. Pacioretty had a horrid last year with MTL and went for Suzuki + Tatar + 2nd RD pick …

Stankoven is one of our untouchable prospects (available for an overpay), so it’s a not go here. Switch him with Dellandrea and you have a better chance, with Stankoven it’s close to 0.

For you I understand but he is still an early 2nd Rounder, he isn’t a blue chip prospect. All good I understand, but I need to make a realistic trade, he won’t be traded for peanuts Petry but we won’t get Bourque + a 1st RD pick either

The thing with Stankoven that makes him very important to Dallas is his offensive upside.

Except Johnston I think he’s our best prospect when it comes to offensive upside (Bourque better overall), and as a team where that’s incredibly rare, it’s really important.

Except Robertson, Hintz and maybe Gurianov, there’s not much to look for in the future, Stankoven is one of them that can potentially help.

And in this point in time it’s really obvious he shouldn’t of fallen to the 2nd round, he’s way better than Boucher and he went 10th.

Dellandrea isn’t peanuts, he’s a former 1st round pick that still has value just that he’s more of a two way forward.

Need to be one of Stankoven Johnston or Bourque, otherwise we are trading him for what ? Future bottom six forwards or bottom pairing dmans ?

If you’re going to ask for either 3 of them for Petry than you won’t get a deal from Dallas, simple as that. We have other good prospects, like Dellandrea and Damiani.

I’m pretty sure Edmonton can give us Barrie for a lot cheaper.

The only reason Petry is linked to Dallas is because of his Houston born wife that's all, Bad enough Nill is stuck with Suter and now a useless Petry as well.

That explain why you don’t know your hockey. Just for a hint, insiders are saying Dallas are looking closely for Jeff Petry if they can’t keep Klinberg. Not because Julie was born in Houston lmao

They are often useful idiots being feed disinformation by teams. Btw I am not calling them personally idiots, however I do believe they get used to push whatever narratives teams want put out.

Price stole the series against the Leafs, Ducharme was scratching Kotkaniemi and Caufield like a ****, when they joined the line up, oh MTL start winning. Richardson is the coach of the defenseman and he decided to go 4 dman only, so Gustafsson and Merrill weren’t playing. The Jets lost Scheifele and they were just not good enough, Hellebuyck was amazing tho. MTL get slapped 1st game against Vegas, after Ducharme goes into Covid Protocol and Luke Richardson become the HC while Ducharme is out. MTL plays is best hockey of the year under Richardson, Ducharme comes back for the SCF, scratch Kotkaniemi and Romanov, MTL gets slapped, Price didn’t have a good series. Petry score ONE (1!!) goal under Ducharme and Ducharme was there for a year ! Ducharme is definitely the worse coach in NHL history. Caufield had 1 ! goal this year under Ducharme, since St-Louis is the HC, 4 goals in 4 games (even 5 against WSH but got reversed for an offside). Caufield scored all is goals in the playoffs when Ducharme wasn’t there. If you were watching MTL closely, you would be mind blown by Ducharme stupid decision

Stankoven is one of our untouchable prospects (available for an overpay), so it’s a not go here. Switch him with Dellandrea and you have a better chance, with Stankoven it’s close to 0.

I've already made an AGM Dellandrea, Faksa (Brought up by a Dallas fan for cap reason), 2023 2nd for Petry. Montreal management stated they'd target good prospects that fell down the depth chart much more than just picks and Ty fits a need in Montreal, he isn't playing bad but simply got surpassed by more recent picks like Bourque, Johnston and Stanky.

For you I understand but he is still an early 2nd Rounder, he isn’t a blue chip prospect. All good I understand, but I need to make a realistic trade, he won’t be traded for peanuts Petry but we won’t get Bourque + a 1st RD pick either

He has greatly outperformed his 2nd rounder status AND has surpassed other high draft capita by doing so.
