Laf isn't a fit in Montreal. The pressure will eat him alive being a francophone 1OA

This is why I was saying Rangers should have traded Laf for Eichel. NYR is a legit 1C away from being the best team. As a Caps fan I'm glad they didn't but they should have.

That would be weird, and Miller is worth a lot more, especially with retain.

It was something by Larry Brooks I saw on twitter so, take that with a grain of salt. Not a great source, but in the potential chance of it being legitimate, I thought this could be fun

"Larry Brooks of the NY Post is the most plugged in reporter covering the Rangers. In a recent article, he brought up the idea of trading the Rangers only first overall selection of the modern-day draft in their history.

Lafreniere is going to have to move to the right wing in order to get top six minutes in New York. If there is doubt that he can handle the move, the Rangers are going to have to consider their options. (Even now, with a temporary right-side vacancy on the Zibanejad-Kreider Connection, head coach Gerard Gallant is opting to fill the void with Julien Gauthier rather than No. 13.)

That’s the kind of trade a team regrets making for a long time. It boggles my mind that Chiarot is being mentioned worthy of a 1st, and Toffoli is a nice player but meh and a 2nd rd pick for a 20yr old guy drafted 1st overall. The Rangers would be insane to wash their hands of him in less than 2 seasons.

If that's only what the Rangers are asking for Lafrenière, Montreal is accepting it. I think Lafrenière is a future Huberdeau type of player.

I believe that was mentioned about 2 weeks ago-toward end of January- by Brooks. Since then LaF has in fact been plugged into the top line...and he has shown chemistry with Kreider and Zib in the small sample of games since then. Now does he stay there when they resume playing again? who knows...but it would seem to make a lot of sense to put Kakko on 2nd line- where he has been a real good fit with Strome and Panarin...leaving the 1RW slot for him to keep building there what he has seemingly started. So as far as putting him on the trading block? I guess every player out there has a value- which if presented, you have to at least consider...but unless there is any other sources out there talking about NYR looking to move LaF, it's safe to say that he will not be going anywhere anytime soon.
