Giving buffalo a cap dump and not paying is crazy. Rodrigue for a fourth seems fair.

Can’t see Columbus making that trade, Koskinen is a cap dump and Koekkoek is a 6th defenseman at best and is already 27 neither player really helps Columbus now or in the future.

even if these trades were accepted all you have done is shuffle deck chairs and lost 2 first rounders a second and 2 good prospects....

No, we don't need wingers and I very easily see him facing the same issues that DeBrusk did

Edmonton isn't a good trade partner for the Bruins with regards to DeBrusk

Lol what? The oilers add klingberg and chychrun and a good goalie without giving up anything of value off their roster.

Chychrun doesnt help edmonton for long enough. In 3 years he leaves in free agency.

Korpisalo is not really better than Koskinen. If they wanted him they would have him already.

Edmonton does not need Klingberg and does not need to move Ceci. The right side is fine and ceci has been a value contract so far. If anything Barrie will be moved for cap space as Bouchard could easily run the powerplay already.

I guess I got caught up inside the overhype he gets after his rookie season. PPG player in a small 19-20 sample, but he hasn’t followed that up ever since.

which adds offense not much defense.
bottom 6 is a train wreck goaltending is pretty much the same.
end of season klingberg walks derusk isnt given a QO so is a free agent

so in essense the oilers still cant defend still cant stop the puck from going into the net. will either miss the playoffs or have another early exit and they are out as I said before 2 first rounders a second and 2 good prospects....

Both those d men are good to very good defensively. The goalie is, well, a goalie, so no that isn’t adding offense.

This is literally the opposite of shuffling deck chairs.

klingber vs ceci pretty much same defensive ablility...

ceci vs chychryn pretty much same defensive ability... yes he would be taking the spot of a koekkoek or russell so it is an upgrade you are right here.

so no they are not getting a great defensive player in either case..
Mikko and Korpisalo also have pretty much identical stats....
so getting rid of that much for players that dont address the issues that this team actually has is shuffling deck chairs its moving players in and out without address whats really wrong the very definition of shuffling deck chairs.

now if this was for a goalie with better stats.
a shutdown dman an actual 3 line center or a top six winger ideally right wing to move out yamo then I could see it justifying the cost but not for this.

Ya, i watch hockey. Don’t care about charts.

This is the opposite of shuffling deck chairs. These are transformative moves. If you’re comparing ceci to chychrun in any capacity, i think baseball might be more your speed. Much more metric driven. Much less thinking. Cheers.

i would question who you watch then as you clearly no nothing about the game.

how is it transformative when 2 out of the 3 players will be in edmonton for a couple of months...

Oh i “no,” nothing about the game? Maybe I just “no knothing” about charts, but when it comes to hockey, this is pretty simple if you just watch a little bit. It’s also going to be a consensus opinion around here, because duh.

The poster made an ACGM talking about this season.
It is transformative long term because chychrun would be the teams third best player for the duration of his contract, but more importantly, the entire point of this was to affect the team this season. Mission freaking accomplished.

the reason the oilers go no where is because they cant defend and there goalies cant stop pucks.
This AGM doesnt address either while making the bottom 6 even weaker than it was before. They will get run over in the 1st round thats assuming they make it to the playoffs.
Yep chychrun is a nice add Ill admit the just the wrong type of add for what this team is lacking you can add really good players all day long but adding more of the same that you have doesnt get you any where.

Like i said before if the oilers want to move forward those assets better be used to bring in a goalie better than mikko or korpisalo ( esssentially the same goalie), An actual 3 line center. an acutal top 6 winger, and a big body shut down defense. (bonus if one of the forwards has some grit to his game or plays with some heart something else the oilers lack.

klinberg, chychrun, debrusk dont add anything this team is missing.

Okay, i stopped after your first sentence. This ACGM addresses the defending. Klingberg and Chychrun are awesome two way guys. Chychrun is fantastic defensively. You couldn’t do a better job identifying a player that would help the oilers.

it adds offense thing first dmen which they already have in barrie bouchard adding two more doesnt help.
adding a defenseman who can be physical, who can throw a hit, who can clear the front of the net, who can break a cycle thats a dman that would have more value to this team than a big name player.
