The big question is

Lambert or Kemell?

Absolutely agree. Been a little bit disappointed with Kemell. The shot is obviously there but no play driving to speak of. Getting drafted to the right team will be important for his success. Definitely needs a setup man

My thoughts exactly, not a play driver, has a snipe shot, often poor shot selection though. One thing that really stands out to me though, he’s always open. No matter what. That’s what’s most impressive about his game to me

Really tough at this point and it will be an even worse decision if Kemell has a bad WJC while Lambert has a great one. Idk why but I think Kemell is another Lucas Raymond potential player

Think Kemell's still fighting that injury which kept him out for a while in Liiga. Wouldn't be a surprise if it affected his performance a bit, although I agree that he hasn't been such a force he was couple of months ago.

That's the common criticism with him. He's probably better than Lambert playing off puck in the O-zone, but other than that...

Very impressed by Ville Koivunen, CAR knows how to draft

Lambert but I’ve liked him for a couple years - Kemell still has great potential tho

He wasn’t producing in Liga. WJC will determine if Lambert goes up or down and Kemell if he goes down

I don't really agree with that. Maybe from the standpoint of public perception, but as my last post implied I don't think the majority of professional scouts will be swayed too heavily by production or play in small sample sizes.

So Lambert's partly Canadian. I wonder would he fit to Canada's WJC roster this year, and if he does who would you drop from his way?

What do you say, my fellow Canadians of this site?

When comparing point totals with Kemell, he’s out scoring him by so much

I mean Savoie didn’t even make it and neither did Geekie. Savoie is tearing up the WHL. I don’t think he would’ve made team Canada this year.

Canada's prospect pool looks always so f*cking stacked. Like, they should have a second team in these championships.

Canada Red and Canada Black could be fun additions.

I’d go out on a limb and say he should be going top 3, if lower it’ll be a massive steal for the team picking him.

I can’t see Lambert going too 3 with how stacked this draft is, he’ll most likely go late top 10

Wdym, he’s been great this year, while he had a slow start, he has such a well rounded game and shows great skill, smarts and a sky high potential

Nothing official yet from CZE but sounds like defenceman David Jiricek, a top 10 prospect for the 2022 NHL draft, suffered a knee injury yesterday vs. CAN that will take him out of the rest of the WJC.

Even if this does take him out, top 5 pick IMO

Damn it . @justaboss he was really impressing me. Even with the need for forwards on the Sens, I’d be really happy if they took him. Looks like another Seider

Can’t believe the Sens were 1-3 pick away from Guenther, Eklund or Clarke

I discussed this similarly on the prospect thread or something.

I think Wright will be good, but he just.. there’s not that wow factor. Like Wright will be good but he doesn’t often display a dynamic talent. Wright is gifted and steady, and a leader through play and work ethic. But he doesn’t look like he’s gonna be on the level on Crosby or whatever. He just doesn’t give me point per game vibes. Whereas guys like Bedard Michkov have that - wow this guy could be over a point per game.

Like if I was projecting Wright:

60-70 points / 82 games (that’s obviously very good) - 1st line steady Center

But someone like Bedard looks like that high octane 80 point guy +. Less steady but more boom for you buck.

Same for me. 6’3 RD who can be physical, defend and get pts.
Chabot-Jiricek
Sanderson-Zub
Kleven-Thomson

Then trade JBD and more for a top 6F
