What grievance? The one Jack Eichel would’ve filed six months ago if he had a prayer in hell of winning? The Sabres have not broken any rules, filing a grievance would be a joke, and he would be laughed at because there is no chance he wins. Everybody seems to know that except for you.

Did you not see the report from about a week ago? If something doesn’t happen soon, a grievance is going to be filed. Obviously no one wants that but it’s out there and very real.

The NHL is a little busy with the Blackhawks situation.. They won’t pay attention to a grievance especially when the Sabres aren’t doing anything wrong and following the CBA.

Adams isn't retaining period, And no team out there is retaining $15,000,000 for 5 years on Jack Eichel. That's just pure laughable.

I think sabres could eventually break down and retain 1.5-2.0. I’ve said many times this whole situation is a worst case scenario from the sabres side:

The Islanders paid Arizona two seconds and a conditional 3rd to retain $4,375,000 of Andrew Ladd's salary over 2 year period.
So for 5 years of $5,000,000 per year that is 5 seconds and 3 thirds.
The Leaf's paid Carolina a first to take one year of Marleau's salary at $6,000,000
Give the Sabres 3 to 5 first round draft picks for retention and they may consider it.
That makes this trade Eichel and a first for future consideration..
It should be very clear that this is just woefully insufficient for Eichel.

This isn't what is being proposed. The trade is a 3 way deal where the third team retains $3mil in exchange for a 24 1st and a 23 3rd. I was replying as a fan of the potential third team. In that scenario, the third team is getting screwed and there isn't a GM in the league that would accept it.

I am responding to the 1st and 3rd representing between a quarter and third of the value needed to retrain $5,000,000 over a five year period.
