The value is probably good for NSH, but I can’t see them moving on from Saros anytime soon.

Very Much a yes from OTT,

Brown is a lot to give up, but Yamato is a young Right shot RW that can play with Stuztle and Pinto for years.

Also your not getting saros out of Nashville, your best bet is still Khodobin from Dallas or Varmolov from islanders.

We gotta have room for nurses contract after the season and we still gotta sign jesse who will probably want 5-6 mil on his new deal

Klefbom LTIR fixes that mostly, and you can acquire more LTIR.

Appreciate the feedback, and I totally understand that it's unrealistic NSH actually moves on from Saros. Was more just an experiment to see "what if"

Would have to trade Barrie in the offseason, but including a ~5.5Mx5-6 year extension for Jesse, this is all still possible. Also depends on Keith's future, although I personally think it's unlikely he retires or has his contract terminated or anything that is being suggested on this site.

I agree. I'd rather spend less (both in assets out and cap space) and get either Ingram or Askarov if Nashville is willing to move a goalie.

I just can’t get behind spending soo many assets on a goalie no matter who it is. Many teams still consider using a first on a goalie in the draft is too risky Holland might fall under that category considering how that last draft played out. Here your sending 2 firsts a really good prospect and a second that can become another first. I can’t think of a goalie that commanded such a return in the modern day. New Jersey gave up one first to van. I get he’s good but goalies just don’t cost a fortune to acquire.

Personally, I have never seen a goalie return that much in 3 decades

Except maybe Patrick Roy?

I think Ottawa would value Connor Brown significantly (I know I do) more than Yamamoto who never produced anything interesting outside of 2019-20 when he spent 95% of his shifts with Leon Draisaitl (a lot of RNH and McDavid too). I haven't looked at his QoT in other seasons but if he played with these players a lot and didn't produce, then he's really not that good.

Time to copy/paste my Connor Brown FACTS again!

- Among Brown's 19:17 TOI/GP in Ottawa, 2:45 were on the PK and only 1:32 on the PP. His overall dZS% has been 62.6% which is extremely high. Simply put, he is mostly used as a shutdown forward or on a matchup line.

- Despite this defensive usage, he has been 61st for Even Strenght Points among NHL players since 2019-20 (not including 2021-22 yet). Look at the names around him on that list, they aren't all as good overall :

http://www.nhl.com/stats/skaters?reportType=season&seasonFrom=20192020&seasonTo=20202021&gameType=2&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=evPoints&page=1&pageSize=50

Facts summary :

- He has scored at a 24 goals/50 pts pace in Ottawa (127 GP)
- He was 2nd in takeaways last season (behind Mark Stone of course)
- He received Selke votes (17th)
- Total beast on the PK : routinely gets more scoring chances than the opposition
- used heavily in a defensive deployment (34.0 oZS% vs 66.0 dZS%) but still provides good offense

His speed, non-stop motor and flawless work ethic is a beautiful thing to watch. With only a 3.6 AAV for 2 more seasons... way too valuable for Ottawa and they love him a lot. Any team who has Brown should use him in a similar way that Ottawa has been

I do value Connor Brown a lot and I like him as a player, I think long term it would be best to keep him for a 3rd line role at a lower cap hit, but the team really needs a Younger right shot RW to fill ou the top six with Stuzlte and Pinto. I know Yamato is undersized but if you do look at his stats he is a decent play maker and has a good shot, I think playing with good players like Stuzlt and Pinto he would be a great setup man and play maker for them. Plus you can probably keep his cap hit at a decent level.

Not the best option for that roster spot but not a horrible one.
