DJ doesn’t seem to like him. In limited minutes he was on pace for 35pts last year with 2 PP mins while looking even better than Chabot. Also played very well in preseason and DJ still didn’t give him a spot. Says more about DJ than Brannstrom

Brannstrom was very arguably elite in about as many games (3.9 corsi rel and 0.8 primary pts/60) and gets sent to the AHL and his trade value is trashed

Rangers decline but really due to White's $4.75M cap hit. Have to pay Fox, Miller, Kakko and Laffy in short order. Also defense depth is something the Rangers have a fair amount of between Zac Jones, Matthew Robertson and Braden Schneider.
