Just like everyone swore Tyler Johnson was going to cost a 1 and a3 +
Uhh Johnson is actually still quite useful.

What is this glaring reality? That he had a down year like just about every player experiences at some point in large part due to injury? Could the reality be that when healthy he is among the better skaters in the league also capable of playing with elite level players. Not exactly common trait for a guy that can and will go toe to toe with anyone in the league. Could the reality possibly be that people make claims on players value without actually knowing the player and those stupid claims become contagious and leave a false perception?
Oi vey...
During the 18/19 and 19/20 seasons, Kassian played over 1000 minutes of 5v5 with McDavid and about 850 minutes with Drai, with a significant portion of that time out there with both of them simultaneously. Not only did his P/60 w McD rank 17th on the Oilers (behind such luminaries as Joakim Nygard, Brandon Manning, Matthew Benning, Jason Garrison and Kevin Gravel) and his P/60 with Drai rank 12th on the team, but he also managed
somehow to drag both of those superstars below 49% Corsi while on the ice with them.
Kassian is hot garbage who also takes tons of bad pens, everyone knows it and he has 3x3.2M left. He's sometimes okay on the rush, but miserable on the forecheck. He's terrible getting out of his own zone. He's a big ol' dump. End of. It will cost something quite good to move him away. Obviously.
