San Jose wing depth is not very good honestly, and that is with Kane and who knows how that plays out.
SJ declines but it’s not because of that.
Umm:
Meier - Vying for Kanes role if he leaves, talented player struggling, better to play than debrusk
Kane - top 6 high end player, but.. yknow, and hes playing anyways more likely than not
Leonard - shows alot of potential and was very good two way last year, younger and better to play than debrusk
Labanc - actually has been playing well, no need to punish him if hes been good
Bara - played really really good in his small showing, deserves to play top 6 as a result with Hertl until he loses it
3RW - open but Chmelevski and a few other prospect deserve the shot
Balcers (3RW) - play here, played well in his showing and deserves the shot
then we have:
Dahlen, Nieto, Chmelevski as I said, followed by later prospects next year; Bordeleau (tranistion to wing but could be a C), Eklund
The only guy that I would play Debrusk over is in the bottom 6/ 3rd line and thats the RW but Meier, Kane, Leonard should have LW and Debrusk isnt a 4LW. On RW (idk if he can play RW well or has) we could see him take 3RW but if Chmelevski or a guy like Dahlen earns it out of camp its better to let those younger unproven kids play there and Balcers is still around who plays well everywhere but would be best in the bottom 6.
So really its only Balcers, Chemelevski, Dahlen, Nieto (im not even counting Cogs because I dont want him to see ice time lol) who I would play Debrusk over and theyre all bottom 6 which is fine if he can play 3RW or be there if we need a 3LW for unknown reasons yet. Otherwise hes playing 4th line which isnt where Debrusk should play soooo. Only if Kane moves than Debrusk would have a role. Otherwise.. yes the Sharks are too full of wingers to have any use for Debrusk.
