TDA is better than Stetcher, he is a 50 point D man... AND THAT IS A LOT for stetcher.

As for the rest of it... eh. Gustafsson isn't needed

Gardiner is LTIR fodder for the year

Skylar Brind'amour actually has value as a prospect

      1. If TDA lashes out at his teammates after an OT loss during the regular season like he did with the Rangers, imagine what it would be like during the playoffs if it happened again.

Character is more important than putting up points when you're already winning against weaker teams IMO.

If TDA's character didn't improve in Tampa, Arizona or New York, what makes you think it will improve in Carolina?

It will take more than TDA and his level of character to fill the shoes left behind by Dougie.

As for Stecher, it's a 3rd round pick for someone who did good at the World Championships and in the playoffs for the Canucks.

I'm just spitballing what his trade value is as a rental.

      2. Carolina needs somebody to quarterback the power-play if it falls apart.

That's why I brought in Gustafsson.

      3. I didn't know that Gardiner is eligible for LTIR.

Would you be able to tell me the extent of injury and how long he'll be out of the lineup?

      4. Brind'amour's son hasn't been signed to an ELC by the Oilers yet since being drafted in the 6th round in 2017.

That tells me all I need to know about his trade value.

This is over someone who was drafted years ago in the 6th round and who hasn't ever signed a contract with the Oilers.

And you're fuming over a Cup Final from 15 years ago.

Sometimes, it's healthy to have a good day once in a while.

      You should try it sometime.

TDA is a 50 point D man. If he keeps his nose clean, he'll QB the PP. He'll play with Slavin 5v5. He's going to be fine on the ice, no one doubts that.

Gardiner is having back surgery, he's out until after the TDL at the earliest, probably the entire year with recovery time. That's what Civian was saying in the Athletic

Skyler Brind'Amour dropped to the 6th round. He's not a blue chip guy, but there's a lot of late round guys with good value. Look at Alexander Pashin. Dude was a 7th rounder and is one of the best prospects in the Hurricanes organization right now

      So, thanks a bunch smile

While I agree that there’s some risk with TDA due to his off ice and locker room antics I do think There’s an argument that there’s a better chance he stays in line here versus the other places you listed - RBA. There’s other coaches who can hold him in line but Tippett (assuming that’s who coached him in zona?) and Quinn aren’t coaches that can handle a room as well as rba. It remains to be seen but if he does keep the off ice stuff clean I think he’ll have a huge season playing with Slavin and running PP1.

      Welcome to the Canes! wink

Haha, I see what you did there! It would only make sense if Carolina had Skylar honestly, but no we want him!…. Honestly, Kotkaniemi would be an awesome add! I feel like he would take less then what he is making, and with term unless he proves he is worth 6M.

As an Oilers fan that blames some of the decade of darkness on Rod the Bod and his merry men of Caners there is a slight satisfaction in watching Oilers management ruin his sons career. BUUUUUUTTTT
As a human I hope this trade is made it would be cool to see a Father-Son/Coach-Player thing happen if he can crack the line-up.

I think you are bang on with value for Stetcher, some people don't think he's worth it but good luck finding a RD with this cheap if a cap hit that is available for less. Also they probably still would be inclined to make the trade as injuries will occur and it doesn't hurt to have back up defencemen.
Skylar would be wicked add for the canes just for the family value. I'm sure you could throw them a late round pick and be done with it.

No username change of any sort?

That’s something that I’d think about down the road if it happened. But I’d say likely not, since he’s still my favourite player.

Brind'amour's son hasn't been signed to an ELC by the Oilers yet since being drafted in the 6th round in 2017.

That tells me all I need to know about his trade value.

Slow down there Spanky. The young man chose the collegiate route. Given his production to date I'd say that was wise of him. There is no rush for the Oilers to sign him, they hold only his rights until the summer of 2023. It's a draft and watch scenario.

then trade that boy to the habs.

That would open a completely different can of worms.

      With another fanbase.

And you know what would happen if I did?

They would use the same points and exact same line of reasoning that I'm using in this very thread wink
