i don't mind the graves trade. I really don't know much about Olofsson since i don't watch much buffalo but i think the main thing would be cap on colorados side. Once they're done with their UFA/RFA they might need to shed salary and this doesn't really change that for them

I think you would need to drop Fiala from the Eichel trade.

It will take more than a 4th to have Seattle take both Miller and Girg.

I don't know how much interest the CBJ have in Risto, it seems like they are rebuilding so taking on a player with 1 year of control does not make much sense IMO.

It’s too much for Eichel. There’s no way MIN pays that much. Fiala is worth more than just one 1st. So you’re over the 4 1sts equivalent here. You’d need to drop Greenway or the 2nd for sure, but even then it’s still a heavy price.

Why is everyone here trying to give away Olofsson? Buffalo doesn’t need more left-handed defensemen anyway.

yes they do. look at the team. Bryson is average at best and rest of prospects are not ready and even if they are none are projected to be top 4 at least for couple more years.

I have very little doubt that the Sabres can keep McCabe, especially since he’s coming off a rather significant injury and very few teams are going to take the risk that he can return to form. At the very least he would be a serviceable third pairing defender, even if he isn’t like he was before the injury. I think the injury keeps other teams away and he doesn’t get the offers he thought he would. Even a one year deal so he can test the market next summer could be possible.

I don't know...year 3 (I skipped year two because I wanted to see the team without Dumba) the team's cap hit would already be around $62.8 mil with only 8 players signed (That's assuming $8 x 6 for Kaprizov, which is a conservative estimate). That's dangerous, especially if their young guys step in and have any form of success, since it'd be extension time for them as well.

Even if McCabe signs we will have Dahlin and McCabe. We need a veteran who can play top 4 minutes without hurting the team escpically if we trade jack and sam. We will have a very young team who will make alot of mistakes. We will need a strong dcore who can make up for the mistakes.

I dont think Olofsson would be a fit in COL. Hes good on the PP but at even strength I think there are a lot better options. COLs PP is already good and they have Rantanen and Burakovsky who play the same side on the half wall on the PP units as Olofsson does

Purely value wise I think this is pretty good for COL though, but with the expansion draft I dont think it would be worth it to accept and flip him elsewhere anyway

Most people don’t expect us to do anything other than be terrible next year, especially if we’re trading away Jack and Reinhart I am inclined to agree. I expect that both Bryson and Samuelsson will be getting plenty of ice time, at least switching off in the top six. Who cares if they’re not top four defensemen right now? Let them make their mistakes and learn during a season that we’re pretty much going to throw away anyway.

CBJ is most likely NOT losing a goalie in the expansion draft. Korpisalo will be protected and Merzlikins is exempt, CBJ will expose Cam Johnson, and it is unlikely that Seattle takes Cam Johnson.

Merzlinkins is exempt, Korpisalo will be protected and Kivileniks has passed on, those are the only 3 they would take from Columbus and none of them will be available to take.

Also Columbus isn’t trading their number one who said he would sign an extension with the team for a rental. Korpisalo for Risto might makes sense, but Columbus is also rebuilding so it really doesn’t.
