Suter is priority number 1

Description
Suter I think is a must have for the Jets. A veteran guy who can still log big minutes and play in all situations.

Protected List:
Forwards: Ehlers, Schief, PLD, Connor, Lowry, Appleton, Lebanc
Defensemen: Suter, Hamilton, Pionk
Goalie: HEllebuyck

Trade #1: Logan Stanley to Seattle Kraken. With signing of Suter Logan is really the odd man out on the left side. I really believe Heinola is going to get playing time this year with the Jets. Stanley goes to the Kraken in order to keep Demelo and not lose him potentially in the expansion draft.

Trade #2: Andrew Copp & Mikhail Berdin to San Jose Sharks for Kevin Lebanc & TOR 2021 4th Round Pick. With signing Blake Coleman for cheaper than Copp would have been helps the top 6. Copp was tried at 2nd line winger but didn't have the success he had at 3rd line with Lowry. He goes to SJS to play top 6 minutes in a different system and he has a better shot at being successful. Berdin also gives SJS a legit top goalie prospect. Lebanc fills in on the right side. See the Wheeler trade next.

Trade #3: 3 way deal. Wheeler has a 5 team trade list he can submit. On that list I feel like St.Louis, Chicago, Minnesota, Colorado, and Detroit. Out of these teams St. Louis is the team I feel the Jets can make a deal with.
St.Louis - from Winnipeg: Wheeler & 2021 1st round pick & 2022 2nd round pick. From NYR 2021 1st round pick, 2022 2nd round pick for Tarasenko.
New York Rangers - From Winnipeg: Tarasenko
Winnipeg - From St. Louis: Tarasenko. From NYR: A. DeAngelo (retained salary), Ty Ronning, Kevin Rooney

Summary Winnipeg gets rid of a bad contract and helps St.Louis unload Tarasenko. Also gets help in DeAngelo on a team that needed alot of help on defense.
St. Louis gets a veteran in Wheeler who is good in the locker room rather than Tarasenko. Also gets alot of draft picks to start building again.
New York Rangers. Gets Tarasenko to play along his buddy Panarin. Gives up DeAngelo who won't play for the rangers again.

WPG - DeAngelo, Ronning, Rooney
St. Louis - Wheeler, 2021 1st round pick WPG, 2022 2nd round pick WPG, 2021 1st round pick NYR, 2022 2nd round pick NYR
NYR - Tarasenko

I'm pretty sure both Suter and Coleman don't want to play in Canada

The Rangers are stacked on the wings, so why trade 15th OA and a 2nd for a guy coming off his 3rd shoulder surgery? Plus it's cheaper to buy out ADA than retain him

No kidding. Turning Wheeler a 1st and a 2nd into waiver wire fodder. That ought to get you fired.

You have to protect Wheeler or convince him to waive for your trade because his NMC doesn't turn into a M-NTC until the 2022-23 season.

Labanc is better and younger so sharks reject. If we brought in Copp it would be to be the 3C, not a top six winger, but his defense is pretty awful.

Getting Tarasenko to trade him for a guy who's getting bought out makes zero sense.. Lol.. Tarasenko doesn't waive for Winnipeg anyway.

Shouldn't trade Berdin, maybe Copp and a pick for Labanc but not Berdin too.

Signing Suter would be great but who wants to wager he signs in Tampa??

Well both, but Copp is worse on defense and offense.

Interesting, in Jets circles Copp is considered to be very good defensively.
