Pelech is better offensively than Brodin. Even if you don’t want to use analytics, by the eye test pelech is very good at driving offense and making continuation plays in the offensive zone. He is not a pure defensive D.

Lee’s deal isn’t awful. There’s risk involved but it’s not an albatross. Before his injury he had a 1st line impact. Elite possession forward, good at driving offense, top 10 among forwards in ixg/60. He doesn’t have any signing bonuses in his contract so it’s not buyout proof if the contract were To age badly.

Pelech is a legitimate #1 defenseman and a top 25 D in the league. There’s really no logical argument against that.

I mean Holland has to win a cup within the next couple seasons and they won’t with their current goaltending. Their current clock to win with McDavid has been cut in half because of the financial commitment they’ve given out.
