Reshapement of Roster 1 in the Atlantic

Créé par: arman2002k
Équipe: 2021-22 Maple Leafs de Toronto
Date de création initiale: 2 juin 2021
Publié: 2 juin 2021
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
It starts off by making some big changes, in the off-season. It is time to open up cap space. This is done by trading away Marner and Reilly for major assets. Marner is still one of the most talented wingers in the nhl and would be worth big pieces. Seth Jones has discussed leaving Colombus and expect Werenski to want to go wherever he goes as well. This deal will benefit both teams but is especially promising to Toronto. It sets up for the strongest blueline the Leafs have ever had.

Now that we’ve opened up a ton of cap space we re-sign some players that should remain here. Such as Spezza, Hyman, Bogosion, and Foligno.

You then begin signing key depth players that have a strong two way game. Players like Danault, Goodrow, Glendening and last but not least make a big splash. By going for Gabriel Landeskog.

Now that you have a powerful team set all you need is a backup goaltender, who better than the legend Henrik Lundqvist. Imagine the work Campbell and Lundqvist can do for Toronto. Lundqvist is a terrific backup.

With a roster this balanced and deep you are easily leading in the Atlantic heading, all the while Boston is probably contending for 4th seed with the Canadiens. The Montreal Canadiens are getting better by the year and Bostons core players are getting old. So, if Boston is in 5th place why not tank and put Bergeron on the trade block.
And what better team to grab him than the Toronto Maple Leafs. Who are hungry for a cup run, and are easily the best team on paper in decades. This would definitely be the roster that would finally breakthrough Toronto in the playoffs.

Note: The Boston Bruins deal would probably go down at the trade deadline. With all the cap constraints and everything and with Habs, Leafs, Panthers, and Lightnings in the Atlantic division. Its very possible that Bruins could potentially see themselves out of a playoff spot as most their depth and core consists of aging players. If the Bruins see themselves out of a playoff spot around the deadline expect Bergeron to be on the block. There’s no team that would rather take Bergeron than the Leafs. Though Toronto may have to pay more for Bergeron.

What a joke, Why? Would Columbus even entertain retaining $1,000,000 each on Jones and Werenski while eating Marner's entire $11,000,000 or so. Even with Jones and Werenski at full value you're still saving $500,000 dealing Marner.

The Boston Tea Party would look like a love-in compared to what would happen in Beantown!

The real joke is considering trading for maybe the most overrated player in the NHL. If we're going to trade Marner, it better be for someone more impactful than Seth Jones. E2o-CUCWEAANUSx?format=jpg&name=large

No the real real joke is trying to bad mouth a player by advanced stats even though he was the main reason Columbus beat your team in the play-in last year

delete this post you idiot if you think boston would even consider trading anything of value to toronto you obviously dont know the hatred between these teams. Kessel was the last time you would ever see those 2 teams make a deal of any significance. Bruins core might be aging but Bergeron at the age of 50 would still outplay matthews and lock his ass up lol. You are a joke

Seth Jones alone is not gonna even come close to cutting it for Marner. That’s why the deal would include Werenski and a first round pick potentially too.

Boston would be foolish not to if they’re not in contention. There’s no way they have any success in an Atlantic division postseason even if they manage to reach the playoffs. So why not trade Bergeron whos contract is expiring for some assets. Then potentially resign Bergeron in the offseason.

Because Marner is younger. and has more upside than Jones and Werenski individually. Also because Seth Jones already intends to leave Colombus and its likely that Werenski will follow him wherever he goes.

Marner is younger then Jones but older then Werenski, So you're only half right. Still if you can't handle both players at full value. Then you've no business even trading for them in the first place.

By definition, there can't be.

There cannot be multiple "one main reason". You said, verbatim, "he was the main reason'. Not he was one OF the reasons, but THE main reason.

The lengths of which you wish to try and back-peddle are humorous!!

Why wouldn’t they be in contention? They’re pretty good right now and have the cap space to bring back the same team.

Either way, it’s a preposterous notion. A 1st round pick isn’t with the PR headache of moving Bergeron, especially to the team where careers go to die.

You have multiple players taking discounts to play for Toronto that they would laugh at in real life, Danault, Hyman, and Goodrow. Also have Landeskog signing for some reason like he would move from a cup favorite for the next 8 years or more to Toronto

And the trades are just brutal, the Bergeron may be one of the worst trades I have ever seen on here.

No shot jackets consider this. Like for a second. If Kyle tries to move marner which I bet he does explore it. He will find offers like pk subban got from teams willing to stomach the full caphit. Especially in a cap flat world but hey to each their own. I’m not gonna get into a fight online over this but if Jones isn’t the centerpiece in this trade, we’ll agree to disagree.
