hr’s not that good lol, it’s only because he was playing top line and top pp for a while, which he’d never get on any other team. he only had 12 points in his last 39 regular season games. no team will give him 3mil, least of all calgary, not to mention offer sheets never happen anyway, especially for bottom six guys. the most likely case is he goes to arbitration and gets like 2mil and then if boston doesn’t like that he’ll get dealt somewhere for like a 5th. thinking you’ll get a 2nd for him is foolish. and even if he was offer sheeted at an overpay, it would be a 2022 2nd, not this year’s 44th overall pick

And yet Grz is holding up just fine and currently is top 15 in most advanced metrics. Just an awful take considering the only similarity between Krug and Grz is size. They play different styles of hockey

if you even watched the first round you would know grzz was out muscled many times, how about the 2018-19 finals st louis beat us because their defence was bigger and stronger and more physical, plus he is just taking away 1st pp minutes from mcavoy who is a much better powerplay quarterback. Grzz does not have good defensive awarness he has given up so many odd man rushes that mcavoy ends up stopping. Grzz isnt who you think he is. Reilly can do just as good of a job as grzzz plus he is about 4 inches taller. And as for saying grzz and krug are different ya they are krug actually hit people in playoffs

why is that Rask has already made it clear he wont play for another hockey team, I think he would much rather take a pay cut so the team can get stronger. He also no longer plays as much as games in a season as he usually does. If you think Boston will pay him more then that for someone who only plays 50% of the games not a chance, They will just find a cheaper 1a option and have swayman be the 1b

Savard and Hall both had their worst careers years, Hall even admitted to that in his conference call after being traded to boston. He also said he wanted to stay in boston. Its also a flat cap year hall might get 8 mill offers but not from top contenders and he has made it clear he wants to win and is tired of losing.

he had a career year though i think you misunderstood that, players tend to get bigger contracts after those years and a team like calgary who is a desperate team and needs to change up their roster i dont see why they woudnt risk it. Tampa paid a 1st rnd pick for barclay goodrow to sit on their 4th line lol.

if you think nick Ritchie a 25 yr old who just had a career year and brings size, physicality and has a bit of a scoring touch is worth a 5th you obviously dont know much about hockey.

St. Louis beat Boston because the Boston's scoring disappeared lol. With Grz on the ice in R1 vs the Capitals the Bruins....

Outshot WSH: 54-45
Out-chanced WSH: 58-33
Out HD Chanced WSH: 24-11

BTW WSH defense...

Chara - 6'9
Dillon - 6'4
Carlson - 6'3
Schultz - 6'2
Jensen - 6'1
Orlov - 5'11

^That's a pretty big defense and they are (checks notes) eliminated from the playoffs. Not only that but anyone who watched the series would say Orlov was their best d-man all series long and yet he's the smallest of them all laugh

Grz was taken off PP1 because they wanted to go with a different look. They also took Ritchie off the 1PP and put Krejci there because he's significantly better at zone entries.

It always amazes me how people around the team, former players and analyst talk about how good he is, but "Dekes" here knows better than they do. All of 9 post and already its easy to see you're going to add absolutely nothing of value to this place. I'll let others bang their head reading your **** takes, I don't have time for it.

cheers

Goodrow was making less than a million for the next season and a half and was the final piece to completing a cup contender. Ritchie isn’t completing anything and in this scenario would cost more than 3x more than Goodrow. And Goodrow is actually useful defensively and on the PK. A career year of less than a half a point per game inflated by filling in with two thirds of the best line in hockey for a couple weeks isn’t getting him much of a pay raise. Like I said, he’d be lucky to get 2mil. And also like I said, Calgary isn’t interested, he doesn’t bring anything new in terms of physicality that Lucic, Tkachuk, etc. don’t and he’s not talented enough to hang in the top 6 on his own merits, which is where we need to add a piece. Not to mention he’s a left shot winger, which we absolutely don’t need more of (Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Mangiapane, Dube, Lucic).

lol if you payed attention to hockey you would realize tkachuck and gaudreau have a high chance of being moved, plus mangiapane plays on the right wing actually so does dube, so maybe get your facts right first. Also not once did ritchie play with that first line. craig smith, debrusk, studnicka and anders bjork are the only guys that were slotted on the first line when pasta and marchand missed games ive watched every bruins game this season dont even try lol he plahyed with krecji and smith for about 30 games and he finished the season with coyle and debrusk because we picked up hall

grzzz also plays with mcavoy and most the time they are only the ice with the first line or second line which includes pasta marchy bergeron hall smith and krecji so dont be pumping grzz like he is carrying the line he is a product of his teammates. grzz could not carry a line on his own and just like krug if he was to leave boston his stats would drop massively

and also chara is washed and slow, carlsson and schultz are offensive orientated, jensen is irrelevant the only physical dmen on that team are dillion and orlov, st louis on the other hand had pietrangelo 6'3 two way physical dman, parayko 6'7 shut down physical dman, bouwmeester physical defensive dman, edmunson 6'4 physical defensive dman, robert bortuzzo 6'4 physical dman, gunnarsson 6'2 physical dman. washingtons defence is nothing like st louis defence, st louis benched vince dunn their second highest scoring dman just to have someone bigger and stronger and also boston did allow a single shot for about 12 minutes and outshot them dramatically bruins offence did mess up lol binnigton saved them
