and also chara is washed and slow, carlsson and schultz are offensive orientated, jensen is irrelevant the only physical dmen on that team are dillion and orlov, st louis on the other hand had pietrangelo 6'3 two way physical dman, parayko 6'7 shut down physical dman, bouwmeester physical defensive dman, edmunson 6'4 physical defensive dman, robert bortuzzo 6'4 physical dman, gunnarsson 6'2 physical dman. washingtons defence is nothing like st louis defence, st louis benched vince dunn their second highest scoring dman just to have someone bigger and stronger and also boston didnt allow a single shot for about 12 minutes and outshot them dramatically bruins offence didnt mess up lol binnigton saved them

bouwmeester is 6'4 aswell

St. Louis beat Boston because the Boston's scoring disappeared lol. With Grz on the ice in R1 vs the Capitals the Bruins....

Outshot WSH: 54-45
Out-chanced WSH: 58-33
Out HD Chanced WSH: 24-11

BTW WSH defense...

Chara - 6'9
Dillon - 6'4
Carlson - 6'3
Schultz - 6'2
Jensen - 6'1
Orlov - 5'11

^That's a pretty big defense and they are (checks notes) eliminated from the playoffs. Not only that but anyone who watched the series would say Orlov was their best d-man all series long and yet he's the smallest of them all laugh

Grz was taken off PP1 because they wanted to go with a different look. They also took Ritchie off the 1PP and put Krejci there because he's significantly better at zone entries.

It always amazes me how people around the team, former players and analyst talk about how good he is, but "Dekes" here knows better than they do. All of 9 post and already its easy to see you're going to add absolutely nothing of value to this place. I'll let others bang their head reading your **** takes, I don't have time for it.

cheers

Not to mention bruins benched grzzz for John Moore most the finals because they needed a bigger more physical dman so that proves grzzz value right there

Ya fair enough I just think we need atleast 1 more of rask so Swayman can transition easier and isn’t just thrown into the wolves

If he'll take 5 million bucks on 1 or 2 years im all for it. If not then maybe signing a guy like dreidger or mrazek or bernier is always an option.

if you even watched the first round you would know grzz was out muscled many times, how about the 2018-19 finals st louis beat us because their defence was bigger and stronger and more physical, plus he is just taking away 1st pp minutes from mcavoy who is a much better powerplay quarterback. Grzz does not have good defensive awarness he has given up so many odd man rushes that mcavoy ends up stopping. Grzz isnt who you think he is. Reilly can do just as good of a job as grzzz plus he is about 4 inches taller. And as for saying grzz and krug are different ya they are krug actually hit people in playoffs

Quoting: Dekes
why is that Rask has already made it clear he wont play for another hockey team, I think he would much rather take a pay cut so the team can get stronger. He also no longer plays as much as games in a season as he usually does. If you think Boston will pay him more then that for someone who only plays 50% of the games not a chance, They will just find a cheaper 1a option and have swayman be the 1b

Reilly isn't who you think he is. He might be 4 inches taller and 25 pounds heavier but he has no physical presence, much like Grzelcyk, but he is nowhere near the skater Grzelcyk is and does not run a PP. Big overpayment and big mistake if you are going to pay him the same as Grzelcyk.

If Rask plays in Boston next year he will make more than 4M, GUARANTEED. He is still an elite goalie as the playoffs (5 consecutive starts) is showing once again.

Grzelcyk missed 4 games (3-6) because of a concussion, not because the Bruins benched him for John Moore. Can't believe you said that. No revisionist history please.

you definitely over value grzz way too much lol he has only one specialty at thats pp, and yes i will choose reillys height and his defence, reilly has proven to be twice the defender grzzz is, matt makes such stupid mistakes that lead to so many odd man rushes i dont want that on my defence we cant count on mcavoy to save his ass every play because grzz has no awareness to whats going on outside the play. grzz is not an elite defenceman he is a walmart version of krug and look what happened to krug once he left boston he fell off. i would much rather give minutes to our younger dudes like lauzon and vaakaninen then play grzz he brings no defensive presence at all. The only reason grzzz has put up the stats he has and got the money he did is because boston gave him krug postion and hoped he would be krug but he is not he doesnt bring even close to the powerplay quarterback skill and ability that krug had

grzzz stats arent that impressive really you can stick any offensive orientated dman on that first line powerplay and they will succeed, grzzz had 7 powerplay points this year out of 20 points nearly half his points came from powerplay minutes, Reilly in 15 games had 8 even strength points only 5 less the grzzz in 22 less game, reilly also had 3 less hits 16 in 15 games compared to grzzz who had 19 in 37 games. grzzz brings no physical presence he doesnt play penalty kill like reilly does, and so far thid playoffs grzz has only 1 more point playing all the powerplay minutes with mcavoy and grzz is a -2, reilly is a +5 and is palyed 2 more minutes of even strength play which proves my point that cassidy trusts reilly more during es and pk then he does grzzz, grzz is a one dimensional player

I said 3 things about Grezlyck.
1. Not physical
2. Good skater
3. Can run PP.
How is that overvaluing him? You are one doing all the valuating and you undervalued Grezlyck. You gave away a proven NHL 2nd pair defenseman on a reasonable contract for NOTHING.

What I said was paying Reilly 3.675 M was an overpayment and a mistake. Full stop. Would rather the Bruins pay one of Lauzon, Zboril or Vaak under 1M next year to fill Reilly's shoes as they continue to grow and save that 3.5 M as part of getting a real top 4 defenseman if one comes on the market. Full stop. Clear? Feel free to run on again about whatever you want.

i would be more accepting if grzzz maybe specialized in atleast one defensive attribute whether it was shot blocking, or being physical but hes not and so when it comes to playoffs a 5'9 dman becomes irrelevant, they even said during the caps series that obviously the bruins want mcavoy against ovis line but due to grzz's size they cant as ovi and mantha would just run right through him, so instead reilly and carlo took them on for majority of the series and look how well ovi and mantha performed mantha didnt have a goal and ovis 4 points were a pretty quiet 4 points i didnt think ovi was much of a factor that series and that was due to reilly and carlo having that height to be able to body them still and were willing to throw their bodies infront of shots

grezlyck is offensively gifted but you can find dmen who are offensively gifted and bring a defensive game as well, and thats why i like reilly him and grezlyck were at a similiar point per game pace even though grzz had much more pp time about a minute and 20 seconds more then reilly throughtout the season, but reilly brings a much more solid two way game in my opinion grzz needs to be partnered with carlo so atleast when facing lines with big forwards carlo can take on that load, and reilly should be with mcavoy
