Armstrong has been shopping him for a while now and GM's aren't interest. I actually don't think they'll get much for him.

I agree but you know many fans believe he still holds value. I argued Kane’s (E) is worth more and it didn’t get any welcome responses lol.

god it gives me goosebumps

then you got Sandin-Niemela or the potential russian trio Amirov-Abramov-Goglov (or whoever)

the future is gonna be interesting thats for sure. thank **** dubas is in charge of drafting

if Lou or Hunter were with us a bunch of giants who most likely would never see NHL ice

word on the street Dubas is planning to give up his 2022 1st for Derek Grant (500k retained) at next years deadline

I have a strange feeling Kane if he is moved is the mystery player Johnsson was talking about for Toronto.

All the pieces seem to be pointing to him. But unless we get more info no idea rn

rn I got 3 teams going in and NTC has been factored in

1. LAK
2. CGY
3. NSH

and no despite what everyone thinks I cant see Toronto doing it even with 50% retention as 9.5mill is way to much for a guy who is made of glass

Please no to Calgary. Especially for Tkachuk

oh yeah I know - l fans still act like he's a 1st line winger. A few fans in the athletic comment section suggested Beauvillier + for Tarasenko lol. I wouldn't trade Beauvillier for Tarasenko and a 1st

Kane is the better player for sure, Im not sure if his baggage affects his trade value

nah hes just gonna go for like a pick rn. His value tanked hard. Basically I think one of the core guys is moved in a separate deal and they bring in Tarasenko.

This was an interesting idea floated around. I do see a TON of merit in terms of it being fantastic for the leafs.

Kerfoot Amirov I see as the centrepieces for the return and Toronto may need some slight tinkering for cap but Kane would truly make the leafs horrifying if they get their act together.

Kane (grinder with skill) - Matthews (shooter) - Marner (playmaker)

Robertson - Tavares - Nylander

Gives the leafs so many more options and strength that could rival any teams top 6 if things work.

Oh 100% but Kane’s Baggage =/= Tara potentially not even playing 30 games in his last two years contractually.

Kane’s trade will be unique and mutual. Whereas Tarasenko will be a gamble. There’s no meetings or conversations to work with Tarasenko baggage. Kane’s atleast has a human aspect (albeit it’s still baggage with his now long running track record). Kane’s could be fixed temporarily/ permanently (permanently for a couple or three seasons maybe tho lol) whereas I don’t see a easy fix with Tara.

Also I could see a funny news story coming out of acquiring him

where MLSE helps Kane pay off some of his debt its like one of those scripted stories that somehow works

in general I could see one or two of Foegele, Garland, Kane (retention), or Dvorak being in a leaf jersey next season. Man though i hope CJ gives more hints for his mystery player

As I mentioned way earlier rn this is the leafs with all the spaces

?-Matthews-Marner
Robertson-Tavares-Nylander
?-?-Mikheyev
Simmonds-Brooks-Spezza

Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Holl
Sandin-Liligren

Campbell

Personally, Kerfoot+Amirov for Kane is a bit too much for Leafs to give. Kane had a great year, but to be completely fair he has a bit of a reputation - and not exactly a positive one.

Also since this year is clearly an outlier there's a great possibility he's going to step down a bit next year.

I wouldn’t call it an outlier. It’s definitely a good year but an outlier Imo (just nitpicking maybe) would be above ppg and unreal play.

His play didn’t really change. He honestly just stopped taking penalties and acknowledged it actually makes him a better player because it keeps his head in the game and not frustrated with the refs/ a call/ himself/ something. He honestly didn’t play unreal. He just played his game and drove us offensively.

Maybe he reverts to penalties again who knows but he actually acknowledged it and I think that’s a good step.

No idea all I know is he fits CJ description

player with term
did not make the playoffs
plays for american team
and would be someone that would get leaf fans excited

RN my list based on that Dvorak, Garland, Kane, Konecney, JVR, Henrique

There was also the story of another deal between Toronto and LA potentially happening but with Lebrun saying Rielly wants to extend dont see it happening

My prediction is Dubas is gonna get Dvorak or Garland from the Coyotes heck maybe even both. They want to sell almost everyone and this could be an opportunity for Dubas.

Such an incredible run by this team the last 2 seasons. Undefeated after a loss both Cup runs. The transformation from a team that was defeated both mentally and physically by Columbus in 2019 into this juggernaut has been a spectacle to watch. Tough choices lay ahead, but this will probably be the greatest run in Lightning franchise history for the foreseeable future.

You guys had a great run. I know it's back to the gauntlet of the Atlantic division next year, but Suzuki, Caufield, and Kotkaniemi are legit talents to carry you guys forward.

I mean 0% state tax + being 16 Mil over the cap should make it pretty easy. Props to Yzerman and Brisebois using it to their advantage. They didn't break any rules and used the broken system to their benefit.

Yeah, a broken and unfair system, sorry TB fans but that's what this championship was about.
